Lung nodule 9 cm marked as suspicious on report

@peeps69 - Good Morning! My pain after surgery was very tolerable. I think it just depends on the person, your general health and fitness before the surgery, and what kind or how extensive the surgery is. The doctor should prescribe you some pain medications afterward. My surgery was VATS on Upper left lung. Resting and following instructions are the best things you can do. Then when you are able, walking, walking and more walking! As a matter of fact, my Pulmonologist told me to walk 2 miles a day BEFORE my surgery to strengthen my lungs. I only took the prescriptions for a couple weeks and that was just to wean off some of them. Then I just used ibuprofen and Tylenol when needed. I Hope and pray it goes well for you.🙏❤️

Recovering from lower left Lobectomy . Pain was unbearable felt like needles attacking my chest had to take oxy and gamapetin to calm it down had this for three days after release from hospital
Now it’s gone

I have chest pains but it’s probably healing pains gamapetin is helping
It’s been 13 days since procedure

Thank you. So kind to respond to my question. Was your procedure at Mayo? Just had my biopsy today but Dr. is confident it is cancer. I have a 15x14 mm ground glass nodule with tiny 1-2 mm solid components right upper lobe. This is an increase in size since my previous scan a year ago. I am very active and golf 3-4 times a week. How long before you were back to activities?

@peeps69 Yes, my procedure was at Mayo in Phoenix. It took a little while because the first 8 weeks I was told not to lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk and not to twist or bend my body. I was walking in the hospital the day after surgery. Chest tube, catheter and IV’s still in. Had surgery about 7 am and was supposed to be out the next day but my lung wasn’t cooperating with staying fully inflated so had to stay an extra night. Walked all the next day until they let me out. Got home and rested but still walked around inside the house for a couple days then walked outside around my driveway. Lots of naps! A couple days leter ventured up the driveway and up the block. Both are steep inclines. Next day went about a mile, very slowly. Walked with my husband, never alone outside. Breathing was normal. I knew when I did too much because I would get some pains. At my check up I made my husband take the stairs so I could keep exercising my body and lungs. I want to say after a few months I felt pretty normal, but was still careful with lifting and turning my body. Laying down and getting up out of bed are difficult so you’ll want a wedge so you’re not flat, get a small lap or throw pillow or stuffed animal to hold against you when you need to cough or sneeze! I pray that you will heal quickly! I am going to be 62 next week, I was 58 when I had my surgery. 3 years good so far!

@peeps69 - Thank you, but I got almost all my info from this group. I learned about the walking from my surgeon when I had to have neck surgery and he stressed to me about the walking. They had me out of bed and walking within a few hours of waking up from that one. It circulates blood through your entire body which speeds the healing. I did forget to mention the nerve pain and numbness you will probably have afterward. After 3 years mine has finally calmed and returned to just about normal. Every one is different though. The more you twist and turn your torso, you will aggravate it, so take that slow. Certain bras aggravate mine still so I’ve just had to find the right ones that don't squeeze and bind around my chest.
