Loosing hope that my chronic pain will end.

I’m finding myself completely overwhelmed and hopeless. I’m tired of endless dr appointments and no relief. I hurt my back 15 years ago and was told it was just bruised. Fast forward now my pain is severe. It has always been for the most part in the center but has at some points been lower. Now it’s in my neck and all through my rt shoulder and down my arm. I’m not sleeping well. Tired of being in pain with no answers. I have had multiple MRI and X-rays. I changed my back dr because he was concentrating on my lower back pain and that’s not where my worse pain is. Now my dr thinks it’s my neck and X-rays showed nothing. Waiting till my appointment next week for arm then will most likely be sent for MRI. All while waiting for biopsy in two weeks to see if have breast cancer. Just tired of the pain and feeling like it won’t end.

I'm sorry you're going through this. Back pain can be debilitating and affects everything you try to do. It's also difficult at times to pinpoint the problem because of the complexity of the spine and radiating pain. Have you been seeing a neurologist or orthopedic doctors?

I have had abdominal pain since April. Tests are all negative so not sure what is going on. Can't get an appt. with a GI specialist until Nov. You would think doctors would have an "urgent list" in addition to their regular appts.

Sometimes my pain meds work & sometimes they don't.
What are you taking for the pain??

@kayraymat just Tylenol. Dr just prescribed tramadol and muscle relaxer

@kayraymat I have had abdominal pain since 2017 due to a bad case of C-diff. Every day I go to bed with my stomach hurting and every morning I wake up with hurting it’s a 24 hour a day pain I’ve had so many tests done and nothing shows anything of course doctors just don’t understand why. Most days it feels like my guts are being ripped out. I have finally had you be put on narcotics for the pain or I don’t think I would be here because the pain is unbearable. I sure wish in 2017 when I was put on so many antibiotics that I would have been told to always take probiotics when you take an antibiotic or eat a lot of yogurt, but of course I wasn’t told that, I still don’t think to this day that doctors tell patients to always take a probiotic within an antibiotic. Sorry to hear that @alijoezack, but do not give up, never give up hope. I have been dealing with back pain my whole life and I am in my 60's now. Last year, August 2025, I had my 2nd back surgery to relieve pain. As a result of that surgery I no longer have feeling in my left leg and my left foot is in constant pain with these neuropathy type jolts that I get randomly. I have been on countless medications that don't do anything, have had countless Xrays, MRI'S, EMG, Ultrasound, and even a Nerve Block that didn't do anything. I can't walk, can't even put my foot down and don't sleep more than 4 hours. I am done with doctors that are clueless and want to run more tests that don't do anthing but drain my savings account. I don't work, my wife supports me and I still cannot get get on disability. I am only telling you all of this because I refuse to give up and I don't want you to either. Stay strong, it's the only thing that we can do. Never give up.

I know where you are coming from. I’ve had chronic pain throughout my body for years and years. I’ve tried everything my dr has suggested and the pain remains. For me a strong spiritual connection with my Lord and with a support group has continued to help me keep moving. Never give up hope of faith. I hope and pray you can find an answer for your pain and it will decrease

@insanepain I’m not giving up on life just the endless dr appointments. It’s all a money game. I don’t like medications.

@alijoezack Neither do I, and didn't mean to apply that your were giving up on life. And you are right, it is all a money game an we are all on the losing end of that game. I don't like taking chemicals either, I prefer natural remedies, things from nature that have been around a lot longer than we have. Hopefully we can all find an answer and a cure and be pain free.
