Loosing hope that my chronic pain will end.
I’m finding myself completely overwhelmed and hopeless. I’m tired of endless dr appointments and no relief. I hurt my back 15 years ago and was told it was just bruised. Fast forward now my pain is severe. It has always been for the most part in the center but has at some points been lower. Now it’s in my neck and all through my rt shoulder and down my arm. I’m not sleeping well. Tired of being in pain with no answers. I have had multiple MRI and X-rays. I changed my back dr because he was concentrating on my lower back pain and that’s not where my worse pain is. Now my dr thinks it’s my neck and X-rays showed nothing. Waiting till my appointment next week for arm then will most likely be sent for MRI. All while waiting for biopsy in two weeks to see if have breast cancer. Just tired of the pain and feeling like it won’t end.

I am so sorry. I find myself in that mental stage too often. Chronic pain can really do a number on it and you can definitely feel alone. I turn to things that I know will make me smile, distractions, and talk to someone, anyone. My husband is sympathetic but cannot understand the chronic pain. I have looked for a support group here in SW Florida, but no luck. I would look into that too. Reach out to someone.

4 Reactions@kayraymat I have dealt with chronic pain for 40 years and have had an SCS implanted, epidurals, options, etc. Am now only using Meloxucam and Tizanadine for pain and works pretty well so it does start subsiding.
@rarobinson17
Have you tried pain patches??
Lidocaine,tes.
@rarobinson17 lidocaine, yes
You should go to a physical therapist for an evaluation. They truly are the most knowledgeable and competent when it comes to muscular pain. Most times PCPs will send you to them with a prescription “Evaluate and Treat” patients pain condition. I go to my PT once or twice a year for a tuneup for my chronic pain.

1 ReactionHang in there. I have what you have including breast cancer. My back and neck mri showed so many problems with my spine I can’t remember them all.
A pain doctor usually uses short acting injection to help pin point the origin of your pain. It’s a bit like a shot in the dark because sadly MRIs don’t detect pain. Then if they find source they inject a long-acting pain reliever or burn the nerve to shut it up.
Just for your info.
Sorry if you’ve already been through this and it didn’t work.
I echo the suggestion of physical therapy. Ask your doctor for a referral. Try to get a PT who is a recent graduate with a doctorate in physical therapy. They are amazing.
