Breathing issues after receiving Covid shots?
I'm wondering if anyone other than me is experiencing any breathing issues after receiving the Covid shots. I have developed extreme shortness of breath, so much so that I'm on oxygen 24/7. I have to stop halfway up a flight of stairs and rest until I can breathe normally. Getting dressed is an ordeal. I don't do much of anything around the house because I get out of breath so quickly. I tire easily. I've been to 3 different pulmonologists and none of them can figure out why I'm having problems. My lungs are clear. I've gone through a battery of tests each time and the tests say I should be fine. Up until I had to get the shots, I was perfectly healthy. I'm currently 73.
If anyone reading this has had or is experiencing any of these symptoms, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!

@lindentea: I know EXACTLY how you feel. I have the same issue. My breathing problem didn't start until about 6 month after I received the first two doses. I wish I had never gotten them, but we were planning a trip overseas and had to have them to travel. Of course, as soon as we received them, travel was heavily restricted and we couldn't go. One of the doses I received was Moderna; my husband received shots from Pfizer, and he is not experiencing any issues whatsoever. Don't know, however, if that has anything to do with my breathing issues or not. I am on 6 liters per minute of oxygen 24/7. At home, I have an oxygen concentrator and a 50-foot hose, that I call my 'leash', which allows me free rein throughout the house (we're in an apartment). When we go out, I have purchased a portable, but it only goes up to 5 LPM. I couldn't find anything that went higher. Even when I'm on oxygen, any exertion at all - walking into another room, getting something to drink, changing clothes, even bathing - and I have to sit for 5 - 10 minutes to catch my breath. I have to stop halfway up a single flight of stairs just to catch my breath, even on oxygen. And leaving the house? Ha. It takes me the next day to recover my strength. I hate it. I was perfectly healthy before receiving the shots. I've seen a pulmonologist and there's nothing wrong with my lungs or my air flow - perfectly normal. My heart is also fine, I just have A-fib, which isn't causing the problem. I live on the East Coast and I'm at the point of going to Johns Hopkins or the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, NY to see if they can figure out what's wrong. If doctors could prove for sure that it was the shots that caused my breathing issue, I would sue the government. It infuriates me that we were basically forced to take shots that were unproven, untested on humans, and not even guaranteed to work. We were, essentially, lab rats. The medical 'experts' said the benefits outweighed the negative impacts, but those of us who are affected by them are not in agreement, I'm sure. Good luck. If I get any positive news or cure, I'll be sure to post here.

1 Reaction@alicattoo Sorry to hear you’re going through this. Mine started one month after Covid vaccination. Initially I had a severe reaction one day after one Pfizer. My legs went numb and I had waves of pain, tingling, pressure. After a few weeks of this I thought I was going to get better, saw the chief of neuromuscular in my city, thought I’d heal in time and then shortly after my chest became stiff and I had trouble breathing.
They were like attacks, and in between attacks I could still walk and talk so early on it wasn’t so alarming to doctors although I felt like I was dying. These attacks have caused it to be now a real chronic respiratory issue. Doctors won’t give me oxygen, yet.
BTW, there is no Mayo Clinic in Rochester ny. I’ve been to some places in the east and can dm you but don’t know how to dm on here. Will share anything if I learn anything helpful.
I hear you and I believe you. I was a runner, worked out regularly and perfectly healthy until my first Pfizer shot. It sounds like you might be Experiencing Post Vaccination Syndrome. The post exertional malaise is one symptom of it. The SOB I got immediately along with dizziness and daily crashes for hours. Nothing showed up in lung X-rays or pulmonary testing. Do this:
Get your ANA tested
Check for Dysautinomia
Check for POTS
There could be an autoimmune component to your SOB
Do you have heart palpatations? Tachycardia?
After being healthy, taking the shots caused my immune system to go haywire. I now have PVS; Lupus SLE; Sjogren’s Syndrome; MCAS and POTS. So look these diseases/Syndromes up because the research is showing that many people have all these diseases and more triggered from the mRNA vaccine.
You have to keep pushing for answers. Regular scans of your heart and lungs will only show normal then your dismissed which is more than annoying. Look in YouTube and explore these diseases and see if they fit then ask your doctor to refer you to a specialist in the area!
@tls5alex I’ve been diagnosed with the dysautonomia, and also believe I have MCAS. Lots of autoimmune symptoms too but the doctors I have won’t treat unless something shows up on a blood test. One doctor keeps trying to get me to see a dysautonomia specialist but he’s booking out for years because he works in different cities. I plan on seeing him but there are so many cardiac tests they want me to undergo again. Is there any treatment that helped you, especially for the breathing issues?
@lindentea - I know what you mean, I was 54 and going to the gym 4 or 5 times a week with my sons. I played competitive soccer for 20 years and kept my self fit my whole life. No smoking and very little alcohol. After my 3rd COVID vaccine (Pfizer) my breathing has been very labored doing simple tasks, walking up stairs at home etc. If I am in a supermarket, I need to take a break during the walk around to get produce. I have had heart and lung tests and they did not find any issues. Five years on and there is no improvement. When it happens I go grey and zone out. I have constant ringing in my ears and my blood pressure spikes giving me headaches. When I mentioned to the doctors that it was fine before the vaccines, they talk to me like I am a child and dismiss my claims.
@sbar99920 I developed constant ear ringing too. I think one ear is now losing hearing but I’ve been to the ENT so many times hoping he could do his part in figuring out the breathing issues that I haven’t even started addressing the ear issues. Other than the one child who was spared from vaccination, we all have heart rhythm issues now but for all three of us we are being told that’s normal. Teenage hormones for my teenager must be the cause, too much caffeine or stress for the adults which is interesting because nobody in our families, no history of it on either side, had those things before. If there is a way to dm, please consider keeping in touch.
