Should patients with long COVID get the COVID vaccine booster?

I was diagnosed with LC in June. I was planning on getting a fall Covid booster and flu shot. However I’m seeing reports that LC symptoms worsen after a booster. Does anyone have more information about?

@debbiedsf sorry to hear this.I got the moderna shot in 2020.Got Covid in 2020.Been a 6 year marathon of trying to get well again.I'm almost there.Seriously.NO shots for me.Got covid later like two years later again and didn't know I had it again.Found it on a fluke test or something.Didn't feel anything though.I'm not a fan of the vaccines.
It's like what came first...shot,or covid.IDK.Can't seem to nail it down when the time frames were.

I had a bad experience with a Covid vaccine shot -after developing symptoms after my first Covid infection and
The symptoms got worse.

Sorry/ but I wouldn’t recommend any further covid vaccine in an already stressed body with post Covid Symtomes.

I'm not risking another episode of LC on a supposition of "may REDUCE "
Wake up doctors of America. There are thousands maybe millions of us trying to live with this disease.
We all have been marginalized by the medical community because they just don't know

@mishabear2025 Thank you for your response. But please clarify, do you think getting the vaccine can increase risk to get LC from vaccine?

No more covid vaccines for me - I regret taking any of them. I know its controversial but IMO they still don't know enough about them.

@h2998sc how are you getting better? Have you found a dr to help you? I’ve been sick since 2022 and am desperate for any ideas that might help.

I wouldn’t presume to tell anyone to get it or not, can only share my personal experience. I’ve received every vaccine to date, but ended up in hospital with Delta and COVID pneumonia in 2021. Fully recovered after a few months. Second bout was in 2024, well after a vaccine and in conjunction with airline travel. Tough case but not hospitalized…just quarantined in a AirBnB, 3000 miles from home. This was the one that resulted in LC. First year+ was awful. Saw all the doctors we’ve all seen with the same results, as well as acupuncturist, massage therapist and even a chiropractor, as part of a research study he was doing. I’ve continued to get every vaccine to date, COVID and other recommended ones as well (RSV, etc.). I am no where near back to “normal”, but living again. I’m driving again, flying (though using wheelchairs to navigate airports) and cautiously getting out there. I’ve kind of hit a plateau in my recovery and always cautious for fear of PEM, etc. Still haven’t returned to old life of gym 3X a week and pickleball, or bike rides, BUT..a very long way from housebound and having a stool in the shower. Haven’t had actual COVID since my 2024 bout (knock on wood), and saw no ill effects after a vaccine, which my doctor did suggest I continue. I even saw a little bit of a bounce after my last couple. Again, I know it’s a hard decision, since we’re all kind of feeling our way through the dark, along with the medical and research communities, and every time I find my myself asking “do I or don’t I” , but every time I do, and I’ll continue to take it (fingers crossed), along with my flu shot. I guess I figure if I’m going to be out there in the world, where most people think COVID is a thing of the past and aren’t taking any precautions anymore, I’ll do what I can to protect myself as best I can. I believe that my last booster shot November of 2023 triggered an episode of long covid. I have been in and out of all the long covid symptoms for 3 years. I cannot function when this hapens. Was the long covid symptoms as a result of the booster???
