Is anyone else taking Lynparza (olaparib)? How are you doing?

Taking 600 of lynparza. I would like to hear from others and their side effects or just how they are feeling.

Hi all, I started Lynparza 10/15/2025. June 2026, my digestive issues increased. I have IBS and I’m lactose intolerant. I’ve been doing the fodmap diet for several years. I’m curious if anyone has found digestive issues increase overtime with Lynparza. I’m not having nausea, more like lower abdominal pain along irregular BM’s. Thanks.

Good morning
I also started taking lynparza on April 2025. I also have IBS.

About 6 or 7 months ago I noticed I was having more problems with my bowels.
Gassy, loose bowels and urgency to get to the bathroom.

I am finding this to be very frustrating at times. It has changed my lifestyle a little because I am afraid to go out especially eating dinner out.

So far all my scans and CA tests are ok. If lynparza is helping with this then I will continue to take it.

I thought I was the only one with these issues. Please let me know how you are doing and how you deal with this.

@ginmav Thank you for responding to my post. On the flip side, I am finding that my energy level is better than it was at the beginning, which is nice. You are right about eating out or even with friends, it can be really rough, especially the next day. I'm still trying new approaches, but generally any food sensitivities that I had before are becoming worse while taking Lynparza, especially being lactose intolerant. I find that any tablets to elevate this, adds to constipation, a whole other issue. Sigh.....some days, it just doesn't seem to end.

Thank you for getting back.

Happy to hear your energy level increased. So did mine.

It's just our darn digestive issues. I have talked to my gastroenterolgist and he feels between the chemo and lynparza it has done a number .

A question have they advised you to take any meds? I will take immodium before eating out . I particularly don't like to do this but sometimes I just need some normalcy.

@amls
update: I had another scan two weeks ago and it turns out that the new growth is actually a swollen vein with a small blood clot in it, most likely from the surgery and avastin.

They found a couple of more small clots so I started taking a blood thinner to fix the problem that they said is common. We are so surprised and happy it isn’t new cancer growth like we thought it was! (Edited here to correct autocorrect spelling error. Changed the word bought to thought)

My ca125 is still rising but there is no visible change on the scan since I stopped chemo in Feb so the dr thinks it cld be growth on the molecular level that isn’t visible yet.

We decided that I will stay on my current maintenance plan - avastin infusion once every three weeks and Lynparza 250 2x/day - and watch for visible growth on scans every 8 weeks.

When we see growth, I’ll be getting carbo and doxil infusions.

I’m hoping the Lynparza and avastin slows the growth down. 🤞

I took Lynparza for one month shy of 2 years..I did very well on it and always made sure I ate something before taking it ....It might have only made me feel sick about 3 x....I always carried a towel and plastic bag with me just in case I need it...I was my only Dr.'s patient on it that long with no other side effects ....I wish you well on it and it is a very strong medication ...Sometimes what would help also was a mint to keep tge nauseausness at bay ....Mare

@ginmav I haven't asked about immodium in particular, however a long time ago, one of my doctors suggested taking just a half dose. That seems to calm my system and relieve my lower abdominal pain. I hesitate sometimes if I'm worried about constipation, but usually it gives me a break and relaxes my digestive system. Take care.
