Mild ankle swelling seems to be caused by oral minoxidil

I've noticed mild ankle swelling when taking oral minoxidil 2.5 mg for hair loss (androgenic alopecia). My podiatrist says this is so slight it's nothing to worry about but I do worry! Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you.

Hi, I also had lower leg swelling and decided to cut my dose in half to 1.25 daily and the swelling went away. This is the dose is was originally prescribed but I decided to go up because I wasn't seeing results. It was too much for me. Hope that helps. Maybe talk to your Dr about lowering the dose

Hi veggirl, Thanks for your message. I've reduced high sodium foods and increased high pottasium foods - swelling seems better. When you reduced your dose to 1.25 mg, did you lose more hair?
