Bronchiectasis inflamation and dupixent
Does anyone with BE and esoenophilic asthma and inflamation take Dupixent. During my two weeks ago visit to NJH , multiple tests I was diagnosed with asthma and my pulmonologist suggested Dupixent as an option to treat inflamation without steroids. If you take it please respond how you feel and how it helps.

@lilianna I find this interesting that an NJH doctor is suggesting Dupixent. I mentioned it to a pulmonologist last year when I heard about it. I wonder if all NJH pulmonologists suggest it and under what circumstances????
I wonder what is in Dupixent that might differ from Brinsupri. Did the NJH mention anything like that??
Reading @scoops reply I looked it up and it talked about first approved in 2017. Drug.com has information on it. You may have already read it.
Wow, decision making nearly continuously in life with each diagnosis and continuing concerns.

Sorry I meant Xolair (omalizumab), which FDA approved 2003 for allergic asthma. Targets IgE.
@blm1007blm1007 from what I understood Dupixent works on eosinophils while brinsupri affects neutrophils.

2 ReactionsBrinsupri is not a treatment for Asthma. Dupixent is. You can read up on the difference in AI.

2 ReactionsI took Dupixant from Jan 2019 till June 2026 with no significant side effects or problems. A minor side effect was itching eyelids. Who knows why ? Easily fixed with Desonide cream from my Dermatologist. The shots were easy to give and not painful other than a little stick. My allergist started me on Dupixant following a severe respiratory infection which triggered an asthma exacerbation. The Dupixant finally got my asthma back under control. In 2020 I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis and started Brinsupri last December. I was on both Brinsupri and Dupixant for six months with no side effects. I think the Dupixant helped me control my asthma and would encourage you to give it a try.

2 ReactionsI have eosinophilic asthma and BE and take Dupixent. For me it was a game changer for asthma control. It is a little painful—but only for about 10 seconds. I get swelling and/or skin irritation at the injection site. I combat that with Benadryl cream. No other side effects.
