Bronchiectasis inflamation and dupixent
Does anyone with BE and esoenophilic asthma and inflamation take Dupixent. During my two weeks ago visit to NJH , multiple tests I was diagnosed with asthma and my pulmonologist suggested Dupixent as an option to treat inflamation without steroids. If you take it please respond how you feel and how it helps.

The doctors for quite some time talked about dupixent for me. I’ve been on Brinsupri since last September, which has helped considerably with excess mucus and inflammation. Because of this they’re holding off on the dupixent. Are you on Brinsupri?
I have BE, allergic asthma using Dupixent it seems to help a bit.
Scoop, yes I have Bevespi, brinsupri 10th month and now the doctor wants to add Dupixent- he says from all available biologics this one worked the deepest in the lungs. And should help.
@orangetiger how long have you been on it? Do you see any side effects? If yes what are they? How often do you use it? I read that the shots are quite painful?
@lilianna I’ve been on Dupixent since January of this year. Initially, as the very tiny needle enters the skin it really hurts but it goes away quickly. In the beginning it itched and got swollen, a retired nurse friend suggested using a body lotion on the itchy area that helped. Now no itch, just slight swelling and its very temporary. Hope this helps.

Dupixent has been on the market for I think 20 years. It works well especially if you are still have symptoms left over even after taking brinsupri. You can always stop if it doesn't work. Good luck!
@scoop thank you. I cannot start it yet because I was supposed to start the first dose with two pens but the CVS specialty pharmacy sent me only two pens for a month. Always something.

1 Reaction@scoop Do you also have to have some type of asthma diagnosis along with the BE for Dupixent? I have never been diagnosed with asthma, but severe BE & pulmonary fibrosis. I have been on Brinsupri 11 months now and it has helped somewhat, but I still do have symptoms after I take the Brinsupri in the a.m. & continue to nebulize 3x daily on most days. Thank you.
@spider109
Yes, I do have some type of asthma likely related to allergies. I do not take dupixent, but I do take brinsupri 25mg, which has been quite helpful.
Have you looked into clinical trials for the PF? It seems like our previously neglected respiratory system is starting to get some attention from research/pharma.
@scoop yes scoop I have looked into clinical trials. In fact I’m on a “interested” list to participate at my home hospital at UVM in Burlington VT. But I think being such a small city and community we get overlooked by many of the big pharmaceutical companies because of our population.
