Highly sensitive to meds - need help with panic/anxiety/depression
To start off with sober 9 1/2 years, yay. 💕
Took lexapro as prescribed (had taken for years) suddenly had a severe reaction landed in er thought having heart attack. Domino effect had another reaction to a med I had been taking over 7 months, boom -er visit.
Let me add I did have pregnancy I think that’s changed my hormones greatly.
Panic attacks start happening I’m not reacting well on hydralazine, panic attacks worse 8 panic attacks two days. Attavan that was absolutely terrible I don’t remember that night and following day.
Given bursar and cymbalta and seroquel (given all within a day) and one other s one at behavioral health honestly felt like dying inside. 10 day stay at behavioral health.
Gabbapetin seemed okay but once I came out to real world panic attacks in the morning upon waking 😔 2 day visit to behavioral health
On Wellbutrin now for 10 days
Gabbapettin 24 days
Kalonopin 10 days
I’m scared I cannot take SSRIs (drs figured this out along with me) bad reaction to ALL feel like dying on most of them.
Kalonpin seems to be the only think to stop the panic attacks and I’m having 2 episodes where it’s starting a day.
I don’t want to be on kalonopin due knowing it’s history but it’s the only thing that’s works I’m starting to freak out
Any other med suggestion to help stop the panic attacks and any support for being sensitive to meds like my god I’m exhausted and scared.

What does your PCP say or can you get a 2nd opinion?
Do you know what triggers the panic attack? Do you have a therapist you can speak with?
You mentioned pregnancy, can you ask your OBGYN what mediation is suitable while pregnant?

1 ReactionYou should see a psycho-pharmacologist who specializes in medication management who can co-manage your meds with your OB-GYN concerning the pregnancy. You haven’t noted that you delivered and some meds you could be on may not be safe for child bearing female.

1 ReactionYall im not pregnant I was and im 2 years postpartum but obviously something with hormones is suddenly making me reject meds
I don’t know what you are encountering, but I hope you can get consult with a good doctor soon. I’ve had panic attacks before and they are extremely distressing.
Sometimes, it takes a while to figure out what meds work for you. Some are better than others. Depending on the person,
Have you ever heard of medication anxiety? I might explore that with your doctor. My mom had/has it and it can be very stressful and debilitating. She would associate a panic attack with any medication she took. She would read the potential side effects and obsess over them. She couldn’t even take vitamins due to it. She was convinced the meds were causing panic, When she’d get to the ER……everything was fine except for blood pressure. Ativan would calm her down. Most of the time, she’d just avoid the med, It wasn’t until she was hospitalized with a fall that her medication was managed for her and she could relax and take what the doctor prescribed. She was fine with that, She’s much better, but still struggles with anxiety after taking meds.
I hope you can get answers for your situation and help. Are you due soon?
