Defeated
It’s been 6 years with this fatigue and pain. My life has changed so much. Lost my job while on fmla. Lost my car. Had to move in with my daughter and can’t be a medical assistant because I can only work a day or two a month 🙁
I don’t talk to anyone anymore because I feel like all I do is complain.
My family think I’m just “not taking care of myself enough”
My blood pressure is out of control and they found a aneurysm in my carotid artery 🫤
I’m only 42… long covid sucks

2 ReactionsIndeed it does! However ——- we are upright (most of the time), mobile (with a cane) and taking nourishment. Tis a daily struggle. At 85.5, frustrated beyond words. Daily I ask “God! Why? What am I supposed to do with this mess? What is your plan ‘cause I am not seeing a clear path forward here.” So I take it a day at a time. Focusing on the opportunities as they appear to align my choices with the Great Commandment. We Love One Another as Christ Loved Us. Love your neighbor as yourself. Sounds great. sounds overly simple. It’s not it’s a daily struggle. Find the good stay strong . Onward.

Listen to this song carefully:
"The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why,"
~Mark Twain
You mention you moved in with your daughter, how much of an asset are you to her and there family? Do you help out with small chores around the house, doing dishes emptying trash doing laundry keeping your room spotless another words keeping busy and be an asset. As far as you medical concerns break them done individually and take care them. Remember not everything in your health is long Covid! Ask your self what if I never had covid, would I still be dealing with these health ailments?
I had severe case of covid 1 year ago.eight days intensive care Yada,Yada,Yada. Had to learn how to walk again. My balance was off I was spinning like a top. I broke down everything that was wrong with me and started to addressing each issue. Because I'm 76 how much was covid and how much was because of my age.
Another words I stopped hanging my hat on long covid and got down to attacking each ailment and taking care of them.
So now my credo is:
In the future I have decided to take a less pro- active stance on pursuing specialists for any purpose unless an immediate life threat is involved. Will not pursue any surgeries other than in an emergency situation. Watchful wait is my stance. This approach prioritizes quality of life and prevents overtreatment.
Stay busy my friend and start living again.
dgarza Aneurysm in the carotid artery vs Long Covid: For a 42-year-old to have an internal carotid artery aneurysm, especially if there are risk factors like atherosclerosis, presents the greater risk compared to LC due to possible stroke or rupture of the artery. The aneurysm with out of control blood pressure imo is most important to resolve.
@84forward
I asked God one time in prayer: God why me? and he answered back :
Why not!
Just goes to show you he has a sense of humor just when you it most!

LC since Sept. 2020...
Decades ago when life was in a shambles - two young kids, employees ripping us off right and left forcing us into bankruptcy, losing home and vehicle, etc. - sitting at my desk at home (before the bank took it) asking "Oh God, woe is me, why me/us???" The Lord did not say, "why not??", which is so like God!, but instead impressed upon me the Lord indeed was with me and the question I should be asking is, "Why me? What are you trying to teach me through this, Lord?" ... From that day on, when troubles or joy comes my way, I aim to be a teachable student willing to learn life's lessons from the God who made me and loves me more than any other. I can say without doubt, for the sake of the high holy name of Almighty God, the Lord is forever faithful! It's all about perspective. I am certainly not always successful, but I try for an eternal perspective.

I'm lovin' you and hopin' it shows
I never knew I would have to learn how to love, but I do
I look to Jesus and love looks back - I want to love like that
He sits me up upon His lap to let me see the world around me ~
looking out from His point of view
It's then, when feelings I've never known
come alive within my heart and I cry with compassion
and laugh with utter joy at the life spread out before me
I never want this to end!
I want to live this love until my dying breath is spent!
O, Jesus, please tell me ~ what must I do?
He pointed to all those so important in my life and then even to those I do not know and said to pass on my love in the little things I do and say and think each day, for if I don't it will surely, slowly dwindle away
So, here's to hopin' and prayin' that my love shows
for I aim to love you, with His love, each and every day

4 ReactionsBless you brother,
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight."
Ephesians 1:7-8 (ESV)
May you walk today with the quiet confidence of one whose debt is fully paid. May grace feel less like a doctrine and more like oxygen, something you breathe without thinking. May you receive what has already been given. And may the riches that were lavished on you overflow into the life of someone who needs to hear it. Amen.

a word about ‘quiet confidence’ 😊…
[QUIET CONFIDENCE]
“jrg200911” © 8/12/1991
There is a peace that only comes from knowing the Lord Jesus Christ in the way which He desires ~ intimately and One on one. I call it quiet confidence.
You have been through the rough waters, over the rocky terrain and ventured to the joyous mountaintops of this life. Life continues and He is there to share with you every moment, just as He promised.
You no longer have to ponder the question, "Where will I spend eternity ~ in Heaven or in Hell?" ~ both of which you know exist. In the depths of your heart and soul you know that eternal life with your Creator became possible through the shed blood and resurrection of the God/Man Jesus Christ and became reality the moment you received the gift of grace and salvation offered only through Him.
Commitment to your Lord comes easy because as you have walked with Him you have discovered, though you may have strayed at times, He has never failed you nor misguided you.
Father really does know best.
You are convinced the Lord Jesus Christ is no liar, He is just who He claims to be ~ God and Savior of all and the only One truly worthy of your complete trust and faith.
You have found His Word to be undeniable truth, not fallacy, and when meditated upon, new life and energy become yours. Though the world goes on around you, you carry on day after precious day in His Name with that very special...
consistent...
undying...
...quiet confidence.
