I was Dx with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis years ago and started having tee
Since being Dx with Hashimoto’s my teeth have started loosing in my gums. I’ve had to have 6 implants and thought my troubles were over and now I discovered my left front tooth is loose along with 3 others. I have read that Hashimoto will cause issue with your teeth and my oral surgeon said that Hashimoto can cause issues with your teeth and gums. I don’t have gum disease but I do have very dry mouth problems due to my medications. Sjogrens test was negative. Can anyone please tell me if they have experienced any issues with their teeth and Hashimoto’s my family physician says she has never heard anything about it and therefore won’t help and I just can’t afford anymore implants at this time especially 4.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism as well as Hashimoto's in September 2011. I have had no problems whatsoever with my teeth loosening.

This is the link that @dragonflylady should take to her doctor! I've had Hashimoto's for 30 years and never knew about this. About 5 years ago I suddenly had periodontal disease. I was shocked! In my case it could be due to radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. Or Sjogrens which I've had as long. I have seronegative Sjogrens Disease. No lip biopsy done 30 years ago. I see how new (2025) the information is at the link. Good keep researching! We all could use more help!
