I was Dx with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis years ago and started having tee
Since being Dx with Hashimoto’s my teeth have started loosing in my gums. I’ve had to have 6 implants and thought my troubles were over and now I discovered my left front tooth is loose along with 3 others. I have read that Hashimoto will cause issue with your teeth and my oral surgeon said that Hashimoto can cause issues with your teeth and gums. I don’t have gum disease but I do have very dry mouth problems due to my medications. Sjogrens test was negative. Can anyone please tell me if they have experienced any issues with their teeth and Hashimoto’s my family physician says she has never heard anything about it and therefore won’t help and I just can’t afford anymore implants at this time especially 4.

Did you have a lip biopsy for sjogren or just the lab test? If you only had a lab test you still could have it. It’s called zero negative Sjögren’s syndrome.
I had hashmotoes for years and never had any problems with my teeth. Then I developed hypothyroidism for 10 years. Then it turned into Grave’s disease.

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's years ago and I am having trouble with my teeth. The orthodontist says it's because of osteoporosis which I'm also diagnosed with. I never thought of a connection between Hashimoto's and the teeth. But look https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12228560/

1 Reaction@pennylynn Hi ! No biopsy just bloodwork. I couldn’t believe it was negative because my eyes stay terribly dry also. I was told I had hypothyroidism( in my late 20’s) then Hashimoto’s ( in my 60’s). I’m so confused. My doctor never checked me for Hashimoto’s until I started gaining a lot of unexplained weight. I need a new doctor!!!!
