Anyone have improvement after Trimix ?

Posted by lesjanes @lesjanes, Aug 4 1:15pm

I meet with my Uro tomorrow for my 2 year followup to RALP. Latest PSA came back undectable, so that is most important.

I am 70 and had nerve sparing surgery, but after 2 years I still don't have an erection firm enough for penetration. Its very close with the aid of viagra, but not quite hard enough. Like I said, close. And its been this way for about a year, with marginal improvement over that time.

The topic of Trimix will come up and I am open to it. But my question isn't about it's effectiveness, because many here have already endorsed it. I would like to know if anyone else who is "close" like I am, used Trimix and found that after a while erections improved without needing Trimix further. I.e did Trimix and the process of intercourse reawaken any bruised nerves. Thanks in advance for any experiences.

I would encourage trimix usage. Also, Some men need longer than two years to recover and I would suggest if things are not getting worse that is a good sign.
I am nearly two years post RALP . I started Trimix at 6 weeks post RALP as part of penile rehab program to keep things stretched out till normal erections returned. Trimix seemed to help in terms of getting an erection and keeping blood flow going to penile tissue. Things were looking good till 6 months when unfortunately in my case Trimix stopped working … just too much surgical damage for an adequate recovery. Ended up going with an implant. PSA is still undetectable and that is the real end game for me.

@beachflyer now at 6 months are you still happy with implant? I get one on 8/17 /26 just a couple of weeks. Did your flasid size change (any longer)? I am hoping that I can get a little more flasid length to help with the occasional sit on toilet and so short pee onto floor or pants. Not always that short but sometimes.

@beachflyer thanks for your response. After my URO visit I decided to stay the course. The thought of a rock hard erection is appealing. But after to years I feel I am still healing a bit. This morning I awoke with an erection, not rock hard. But still encouraging. So I will continue with viagra. When intercourse doesn't work, my wife and I are creative.

I am happy with the implant thus far as it is far superior to any other ED treatment in my opinion and yes it is longer flaccid! Whatever your stretched penis length (SPL) is going into the procedure is pretty much what you will come out with flaccid. I did not realize these implants do not stretch that much when pumping up. When rigid, they gain girth and maybe 1/2” in length when compare to flaccid. Implants make us “showr’s not growers”. You can estimate the end result in length by grasping the glands and pulling straight out firmly… that is a close estimate to erect length later and maybe 1/2” less for flaccid. I was told That length will continue to increase over the next six months with use and daily inflation. That does seem to be happening to the tune of about an additional 1/2” length both flaccid and erect.
Good luck with your procedure. I would not go back to shots or pills even if I could.

I have a similar inadequate result however with Tadalafil and am approaching 5 years post prostatectomy. I have used trimix some over the last year or so with a good physical result however the sensations are lacking or practically gone ( no real orgasm)with trimix and there is a wait time after for return to limp. My urologist told me the trimix use will NOT rehab to the point of future natural erections.
I don’t always believe everything they say but so far for me he is correct.

Sorry to read of your experience. I am personally so sick and tired of SO MANY MEN writing that even though they HAD the neurovascular bundles preserved so erections could happen, IT NEVER EVER HAPPENS. I think the urologists are flat-out lying to us. The failure rate of neurovascular bundle preservation must be over 90%.
After 18 months of divorce and 17 months post-op with not even the hint of an erection, I have finally decided to jump back into the dating pool, but...I absolutely dread the moment that I have to tell potential partners that "I can't perform for you and satisfy you, because I have ED from my prostatectomy." That will likely kill each and every relationship that I try to start. I haven't cried in a LONG time...since my parents died...but I am pretty certain that I will cry when each woman rejects me and ends the relationship because I can't satisfy her. Horrible...just horrible.

I had 44 radiation treatment and 4 months of Lupron at age 83 for an 11 PSA count with 4 of 12 biopsy cores positive (3+4, 3+4, 3+4. 4+4 Gleason scores). My PSA dropped from 11 to <0.03 and testosterone to 111. New data indicates that TRT to raise my low testosterone does not promote cancer. I started TRT 2 weeks ago and have had some return of libido after a week and side effects have dropped. Still no firm erections but maybe given time I will recover. You should talk to your doctor about TRT if your testosterone is low.
