Anyone Ever Try Mullein?

Posted by lsm1936 @lsm1936, Jul 30 4:26pm

Diagnosed with MAX several years ago. Went thru years of albuterol and then saline was added. Cleared a mess of those little critters from the lower part of the lung but still had the cough. Started taking a dropper of Mullein extract each morning. Nearly a year later no cough, no feeling of mucus in my throat and don't have any mucus coming up w/nebulizer. Sleep thru the night w/o any coughing and none during the day. Am going to ask my doctor to do a CT and see how this is happening. Anyone else out there ever do the Mullein? No side effects of any kind. Feels like I never had MAC - maybe it is gone??? I will be 90 in November - still do all of my own housework. laundry, etc. House is 3/2 2300 sq.ft.

I have been using Mullien drops in my tea along with Manuka honey and ginger. I also have the mulien tea bags. It seems I don’t cough as much and know it’s not hurting me so will continue.

@irismargaret - one dropper full w/a little water. I got mine from Amazon - Double Wood Supplements appears to be the web site if you don't use Amazon, You can do a search for Mullein Leaf Extract for Lungs as well. I use it once a day in the morning but I don't think it matters when.

@crystalena What do you make the tea out of? Can you get actual mullein leafs?? Or tea bags?
I have two mullein syrups , one by Gaia Herbs and one Prime MD organic, they both have other herbs like ginger, elderberry, thyme.
I take a dropper full once or twice a day. I'm too new at this to tell if it's helping, I still have a hundred questions but--- here's one: How do you make mullein tea ?

@grammyvictoria Mullion tea - leaves are harvested , dried , flaked . They are steeped in hot ( never boiling) water . I have mullein plants in my wild meadow area .

I drink organic mullein tea leaves occasionally because I’ve moved onto mullein tinture which is more effective and does the job better. You take it under the tongue so it gets absorbed into your body bypassing the stomach. I take 2 mils morning and night if I’m home. When I’m working I only take it at night.

Yes! I use mullien tea. It def dries up the mucous. It works as well as the medication 'beinsupri'. (For me anyway)

My hubby went to Ca mountains this summer and picked a bunch of it & slow dried it in the oven for me. I used to have a back yard full of Mullien in VA. I used to use weed killer on it and could never get rid it. I didn't know what it was back then. 🤣

@windwalker Terri nice to see your post about Mullien Tea.
I am a bit confused when you mentioned " it tries up the mucus as well as the medication brinsupri.
I have wondered about the brinsupri in terms of what it is suppose to do and is actually doing.
@scoop .......I am looking forward to those who have a C Scan result after taking the Brinsupri for a year and what the C Scan will show.
I say confused because if we dry up the mucus that we are suppose to huff cough out then why do we dry it up and where does it go??? Obviously I don't understand about it all.
I am not on Brinsupri however I am certainly aware of the medication.
I have not talked to my pulmonologist about it nor have they brought it up with me as yet.
The thought of controlling the daily phlegm/sputum/mucus for me would be so, so wonderful.
