How many of you that suffer from Panic, Anxiety and Depression find that their symptoms are worse in the morning and gradually get better towards evening?

I have been having morning anxiety everyday for the past 6 months. It usually lasts until afternoon. It wakes me up around 5:30 or 6;00. I'm getting very discouraged. The Dr acted like she had never heard of it before. Im glad to see Im not alone.

You are not alone. If you google it you can see that alot of us have this problem. The doctors need to crawl out of their dark holes and learn about Depression/Anxiety, Panic. It is more prevalent than ever.

Hello @anniegk

You pose an interesting question, I'm looking forward to seeing how our Members respond. When do the uncomfortable feelings begin to lift for you? Have you noticed any correlations regarding meals, activity level or meds that you take?

I have COPD and sometimes would wake up with a feeling of "What am I going to be able to do today?". The last election 'news', which I watched all the time had me so depressed that I finally stopped watching or listening to it. That helped considering the candidates!!!!!.

It has been happening to me for several years now.. have tried many helpful activities... meditation, deep breathing, mindfulness etc.. I go to bed, feeling okay in the evening.. however, each morning I am greeted upon waking with the same feeling of anxiety , panic and a sad feeling,

I'm glad to see I'm not alone either.. My doctor is aware of it but all the advice and Lexapro does not seem to help very much, if at all.

Same with me.. My doctor says are chemical changes in the brain at night...particularly with seniors--which I definitely am.

AS the day goes on or sometimes after a low dose of Xanax my mood will start to lift.. No association with food.

I do--Sometimes wish that the evening could start in the morning... Glad to know I'm not alone out there

This is the first time I have posted.. Hoping to hear from new friends with a similar disorder...

Yes. I've been taking antibiotics i.e. Lexapro and Wellbutrin for many years. For the past few years I have found that when I awaken in the morning I am depressed and then anxiety sets in because I don't want to start "must do's". After I take my meds I find I start to feel better in mid-afternoon. Evening is my best time. Wonder if I could take my meds in the evening instead in the am. This problem doesn't seem like much but for me it's hell.
