Brinsupri skin side effects

Observe the skin; if it worsens seek derm consult. Decision to start Brinsupri based on recommendation by pulmonologist. Impossible to know in short term if skin side effects are from Brinsupri. Keep a diary and review on periodic basis to see if you detect a correlation?

I’ve been on since Jan1st. After 8 weeks I noticed very dry skin on my legs. It’s now been 5 full months and it has progressed to almost reptile like skin. It’s not a dry skin that you can hydrate with lotions and potions which I do twice a day, it’s from the inside. The dry scales and patches don’t flake off everywhere - thankfully- but the skin on my legs feels so very different, No other side effects thus far.

I made an appointment with my dermatologist, haven't gone yet. I have been on Brinsupri for 2 months. I've had dry skin and my skin grows scaly crusty things, some that have been deemed precancerous and so taken off, but there was suddenly more and bigger ones and they bled.

I began 25mg Brinsupri in Nov 2025. Began to experience skin lesions on one leg in Mar 2026. Pulmonist had me stop Brinsupri and allow the lesions to heal. The worst and largest of the lesions is still healing. I had a recheck with my Pulmonist on 23 July. He checked the lesions and checked mu lungs which were clear. I am using a Nebulizer with Albuterol Sulfate and Acetylcysteine. On 24 July, a red spot appeared in the same area of the initial skin lessons. The red spot has the same initial appearance as the first leisions. I am contacting my Pulmonist this AM regarding the new red spot.

Forgot to mention that my Pulmonist and I had decided to try the lower dose, 10mg, Brinsupri once the leisions had completely healed. This new possible leision may change our plans.

I started Brinsupri 1 month ago and have had 5 squamous cell skin cancers (3 on legs and 2 on fingers). I went straight to the dermatologist when I noticed them and my stitches come out of fingers today but the ones on my legs are treated with chemo shots. I am still on 25 for now but I definitely do not want to deal with this every month or I will have to get off Brinsupri all together.

Due to life long sun exposure and fair skin, I am prone to developing AKs (pre-cancer spots), SCC (squamous) and BCC (basal). I had all 3 prior to starting brinsupri, and one after being on brinsupri for 6 months. Each time I get a skin check the dermatologist sprays/freezes at least 20 different spots on my body it seems. There's one spot that has been recalcitrant so at times I've been rechecked every 6 weeks. Fortunately, they are slow growing so I keep an eye on suspicious areas and use FU5 cream at home. If you can have them checked/frozen before they advance is key.

Brinsupri is not a miracle but has helped enough that I do not want to discontinue it. The frequent skin checks are the trade off.

@scoop I definitely want to stay on the Brinsupri and the minute I see a suspicious spot I go straight to the dermatologist. I do not wait at all. Sometimes they have me do the chemo cream and other times they just do the shots into the area. After having five in one month, I’m really hoping not to have any for a while.

I do wonder if the spots are accelerated by Brinsupri. It’s difficult to know if it’s aging skin and immune system vs Brinsupri.

I’ve not heard of chemo shots, is that something new?
