Foot neuropathy: What gives you relief?

Posted by kathrina @kathrina, Nov 5, 2019

It seems if I get enough activity/exercise daily I don’t have pain; if not, am awakened from sleep and must get up (even in the middle of the night). What’s going on & what more should I do to avoid rest-disruption?

@eddiestella1 I have been using both an Anodyne red light therapy device and a Rebuilder tens unit for about 8 months now with ~50% increase in sensation in the bottom of my feet.
I have an extra tens unit if you are interested in purchasing one.

@ronludington Perhaps you can get a medical Mj card if that's legal in SC.

@momcatvw yes, I've seen those. I just don't like the I deal of having to get up several times a night to change them. I'm sure it works though. I'm still just strapping on a blue ice block (like for coolers) and that works, lasts all through the night. I just need a better way of strapping it on. But my problem area is on the top of my foot, not the. Bottoms. I appreciate the advice though.

Yes, I agree that it’s disruptive to get up during the night to change out the ice packs. I hope you can find a good way to keep the ice packs on your feet. It’s hard, but we all strive to find relief & be able to sleep. Good luck.

@momcatvw I found an old blood pressure cuff . That is perfect to wrap around a small size freez block and my foot. I tried it with a mini freeze block, but it didn't seem to get cold enough.
So for the moment, I'm pleased.

@ronludington Pretty ingenious! If the freeze pack is in the freezer, it should get pretty cold. Maybe your freezer needs to be turned down?

@heisenberg34 I think the mini blocks just arnt big enough to retain the freeze for 8 hours. But the small size ones do. I'm just to lazy toget up to swap it out.
