I have watermelon stomach and been dealing w it for about 4 yrs. Have had Argon plasma treatments 10 times,
They sent me to new gastro who has done RFA (radio frequency ablation) X 3, still bleeding on and off having with a 4th on the schedule next week. I am very low on iron, my hgb is down to 8.9 from 11. (I've been as low as 5.0). Just want to chat w other people who are going thru this or have gone thru this condition! I really want to know if there is a permanent solution to this condition! 🤔 Thank you

My husband has been diagnosed with GAVE. I am interested in adazathioprine treatment for GAVE. Does anyone know of a study or treatment being done using adazathioprine for GAVE? He is tired of having transfusions every two to three days.

@crazyartist62 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect where members share their experience with disease. People ask questions and others share answers. No one on Connect is a medical professional so diagnoses cannot be make or medicines prescribed. People share their experience and tell about their treatment and the medicine they are on. So welcome!
I, personally, don’t know about studies regarding azathioprine (Imuran) and GAVE.
@johnbishop will probably be on in the morning to answer your question.
How long has your husband had GAVE?

Thanks for the tag Becky. @crazyartist62 I did see a reference on your question that may be helpful to discuss with your husband's doctor.
