Hemorrhagic stroke: What have you experienced afterward?
After a brain bleed stroke could anyone tell me what others are experiencing?

@barbaradh now that I think of it....I had headaches before the stroke...but I took ibuprofen and kept going...no headaches after. One of the side effects of ibuprofen and aspirin are increased blood vessel permeability.....which is why person with this kind of stroke (a Brain bleed) should not take these drugs
@winjki l was told that headaches after the stroke came from the Pons part of the brain. Apparently my Pons was not affected by the bleed. But your friend's may have been. He can take Tylenol for headaches because it is a different class of drug than ibuprofen and aspirin.
But check with Dr if it is Ok
@methel , I also started having seizures are my stroke, and am on 760 mg of keppra, I initially was on 500 mg, but at the 2nd seizure, it was increased to 750, I’m feeling a bit more shaky and feel the increase of keppra may be causing this? What strength keppra are you taking?, is it agreeing with you? Linda,
@lindamangan13
I’m taking 1500 mg 2x a day. The neurologist started at a low dose and as I kept having seizures, he kept raising dosage. As the dose went up, the seizures became less severe. For example. The very first seizure generalized and I lost consciousness. The last one, only 1/2 of my tongue twitched for 10 seconds. ( I know it was a seizure. I can’t consciously twitch just the left side of my tongue 😛). He also changed me to extended release Keppra and it worked better.
Except for my being slightly more tired than normal, Keppra has worked very well for me. For which I’m very thankful.
Best wishes to you in your continuing recovery
I’m seeing the neurologist on Aug 10th, thankfully I was conscious for both seizures, but I am noticing twitches in the left side of my face, and did think they may have been very slight really mini seizures, I read about keppra xr and am hoping she will swop me to those, otherwise I’m fine and pg, I won’t have anymore seizures, thank you so much for sharing your information, I wish you all the best on your recovery, Linda
