@blue717 no brain mri but a liver mri yesterday, doctors at memorial Sloan Kettering have decided to do a wedge resection instead of a Lobectomy

I have 8 nodules, they say they are non cancers, so they leave them alone,is this normal, I'm not sure! Now they found a shadow on my left upper lung, did a CT no results yet is this a bad thing its at the top of the lung@mamIajite

@candy7080 nodules can be caused by lots of things: scar tissue, autoimmune disease, fungus and cancer. without a biopsy, there's no way to know for certain. but generally, if they don't grow over several years, they're chalked up to a non malignant cause. it's good your dr did a CT scan if anything new was looking suspicious. hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the results. let us know when you receive them.

Hi @candy7080, Any finding on a lung scan can be scary, but most nodules are not cancerous. It sounds like your doctors are doing the right thing, in taking this seriously, and sending you for the CT scan. In many cases pulmonologists will want to wait to biopsy nodules until they are at least 1 centimeter. They want to make sure they can get an adequate sample.
What prompted the first scan? A lung screening test?

@sullivan728 I had a wedge resection in mid-March this year. It was the best possible outcome since I did not need chemo or radiation after the operation. Sounds like they caught yours early. Good luck with the surgery, the wedge is definitely easier and quicker recovery.
