Medication for acid reflux/GERD
I’ve been struggling with acid reflux/GERD for a few years and my doctor has just suggested I take a PPI proton pump inhibitor (such as pantoprazole). He was previously reluctant agree to this, despite recommendation by the gastroenterologist I saw.
I’m sure there have been discussions here related to taking PPI’s with bronchiectasis and Mac but wonder what others have experienced related to this?

@blueiris another natural relief is Reflux Gourmet.
My Nose and Throat doctor actually gave me samples of Reflux Gourmet. It’s algae based and protects the stomach lining. I bought it through the same company- you can buy chewing gum, liquid or sachets individual so easy to put in a pocket and squeeze out when needed even if you take pump inhibitors. I think this product is helpful.

I read about this and am interested to give it a try.
@irene5 My white coat syndrome isn't related to omeprazole. For some reason in the past 2 years I just have it. I have to warn all clinics, doctors and staff that they will be alarmed at my BP but usually when they do it again at the end, it has dropped substantially. It is normal at home when I do it twice a day. Sometimes it's a little high in the evening. I have had it reach 164/100 at urgent care but it went down to 150/83 which is still high, but they understand what is going on and when I get home it's 133/79. I just get it into my head when I go in and don't know how to stop it.
