Evenity treatment and its effectiveness
Can those of you on Evenity tell me exactly how much improvement you have had and what, if any, side effects you have experienced. My doctor has recommended Evenity, and i am trying to make a decision. Thank you.

How long have you been on Evenity? If you do not continue what will you take to follow it?
@gravity3 I started Evenity last August and had 4 injections. I had to stop because I had really bad allergic site reactions and my rheumatologist was concerned, as was my dermatologist, that I could have a systemic reaction with the 5th injection. I then went on Evista instead of Tymlos because I was too scared of the needles, which turned out to be no problem for me. I have a history of GERD, and the Evista gave me a really bad flare to point that I needed an EGD to rule out an ulcer. I then went on Tymlos and my doctor gave me several samples. Actually did fine on it and like it except for the issue mentioned before. My Medicare Part D won't cover it and I'd have to switch to Forteo at a cost of almost $500 per month. Plus I want to start traveling and don't want to mess with a med that requires refrigeration. My doctor is concerned about switching meds back and forth and cumulative side effects so we're going to try Evenity again with lots of Benedryl this time to see what happens. Fingers crossed. He has recommended Reclast as next step but I need some quick gains at this point.
@kay15 Yes, the brain fox and tiredness gets old. I just had my second injection. Don’t know how I’m going to hold out another 10 months. I hear from people there’s something wrong if I have those side affects and yo contact my doctor. I told my primary and he said “ yeah I hear the side affects are awful “. I told my orthopedic surgeon who put me on it and he just said “ I just want you to continue all the way through”. And this guy is a top notch surgeon in La Jolla Scripps.
@perpetua Yes I get the headaches, brain fog, tiredness and aches and pain. Put my surgeon wants me to stick it out. I do have good days. Walking 3-4 miles a day, naps and Tylenol. When I notice a pain it always moves around. So I’m thinking that’s where the bone builder is working at that time. I do have Cervical issues so my neck always hurt. It’s just a miracle that a medication can grow bones.

I just had my 9th injection. I have never had any side effects from Evenity. I am probably going to switch rheumatologists (for various reasons) and the new one is suggesting Prolia next. I am unsure if I want to go on that or Reclast. I need more conversations with him about it.
Thank you for responding. Before starting with Evenity I was on Prolia for about a year . I never had any side effects from that treatment and will probably return to it . ( I had changed to Evenity to build up bone as oppposd to just maintaining it.)

Thank you. Your experience sounds like mine , except I do not get that much walking in.
Two miles is more usual for me and not everyday. You inspire me to go longer.
Thank you. I had PT treatments which gave temporary relief in the neck area but the headaches and neck pain overall have worsened each month. I discussed my situation with my endocrinolgist yesterday, She and I decided that I should stop the treatment. Although it is not a bone building med , I will probably return to Prolia to maintain bone density. I had no side effects with that drug.
