GLP1 and no weight loss

I’ve been on Zepbound for 6 weeks and I’m seeing no results. Thoughts?

It took 10 weeks and moving up on the dosing before I started to loose weight. Be patient, listen to your body. If the food noise stopped along with the feeling that you are hungry even after eating, then the dose may be the right one for you. This is how I knew.

I've been on it for 6 months, very little appetite and lost 6 pounds. Makes me crazy when I see people losing 2 pounds a week! Historically I didn't have much of an appetite, but would "snack" at night. This stops me from snacking, I do everything I'm supposed to BUT not losing weight. 2.4 dose. Cash paying. The dr. keeps telling me to stick with it. Seems like a waste to me.

@pamglutemedius Yikes. That’s a lot of time and money for six pounds. I’d be tempted to give up. Good luck.

I don’t take Zepbound, but it’s helped me if I work with a nutritionist to pin down my daily intake (proper healthy fats, whole grains, lean protein, etc.) to ensure my calories are sufficient to allow weight loss. Just cutting back doesn’t usually work for me.

@celia16 I hear you! It’s gotta be some items in my daily diet, while pretty healthy, is not working for me. . . anymore. Thanks for the nudge.

@marywnord

That has to be very frustrating.

Have you discussed the lack of weight loss with your provider? Have you thought about getting your thyroid tested? From my experience, if the thyroid does not function correctly, it can affect weight.

@roch Ha! I tend to run hot a lot. Always travel with a neck fan and a bedside fan. Have a fan in my bedroom. I’ve had friends suggest a thyroid test. I’ll ask for that at my annual physical

@pamglutemedius ,I'm just curious, I'm on GLP-1 Injections for 3 weeks now, when you say your dosage is 2.4,what would that equal in a shot that goes by cc's? I'm on 10cc for the 1st month then 20cc the 2nd month then 40cc thereafter .i ordered a year because of getting such a good deal i couldn't pass up paying in advance...thanks.🙂

I just ordered the GLP -1 injections. Im so motivated right now and am working on lifestyle changes while waiting for it to arrive. Ive started working out at the YMCA because I do not want to lose muscle mass, eating one salad a day for a meal, trying not to snack unless its a healthy option...
Baby steps. Ive lost 1.5Lbs on my own so far. This continues to motivate me.
I wish you the best in your weight loss journey. Any activity helps. Even walking.

@joyb1975 Hi Congratulations on your journey! I wish you every success! I've lost 40 so far. the best news for me is that AND it reduces pain & inflammation from injuries. ANY activity helps. Walking, weights, gardening, stationary bike. Baby steps! Thrilled for you. Here's the dosing schedule list as posted from Good RX - you may have to copy and paste into a browser https://www.goodrx.com/zepbound/dosage
I started with 2.5mg and working my up 50cc per week over 7 months. I lost 40#. Then we went to 5mg @ 50cc for a month. Now @ 7.5 mg dose 50cc for another month and then will move to 10mg
My Dr sent a RX for Trizpeditide with B12 to a compounding lab after the Lilly Zepbound did not work the first month and was too expensive $1,200.
It's very important to eat protein. You can search online for weight-age calculators for daily recommended protein. I eat a lot of chix, tuna, salmon but also have a supply of Fairlife chocolate protein 30 grams shakes that I carry in the car for quick snack. My friend picks them up for me at Sam's club.
GLP-1 are sneaky causing low blood sugar and I got caught a few times "feeling like I'd passout" so I also always keep a candy bar in my purse with a bottle of water. Nausa and slower GI can also be be a side effect.
After my first 7 mos, my dr sent me to a telehealth company because she did not want to handle Rx anymore. The telehealth called MDWatch & the medication they sent was a waste. They refused to change or increase my dose for 6 months. It was a wasted money & time.
I am now back with my Doctor and she is once again handling my RX with a compounding pharmacy that she uses herself and everything is working fine. One of the best side effects for me is reduced pain and improved mood 🙂
