Yes I think what I have is similar. Sometimes its very loud and other times mild. Am trying neurofeedback now, in the middle of 20 sessions and hoping it will help with many symptoms.
Wishing you healing.

@winterdaughter what is neurofeedback?

Ditto to all...have had tinnitus since Covid. Mine is a whooshing and/or steam escaping background noise. When it goes away, I grow hopeful -- only to have it return. Does tinnitus track with inflammation? And yes, what's the neurofeedback treatment all about? Regards to all. Let's keep the faith.

I know it’s pure hell and you feel so alone with it, I wonder if I would feel better if others could hear it, I sound so irrational at times. I went to the doctor years ago when it started happening, at that point in time it flared up maybe twice a year, I tried to describe the sounds and he said perhaps you were abducted by aliens!! I must say I thought I was crazy but I learned later that it was a real ailment which offered me a small comfort. I’m grateful that I inherited my mother’s sense of humour because you really have to rise above it or it can cause you very serious problems, I just pray that they will find a cure for this problem or maybe it will stop one day.

@frouke Apparently research for years. Doesn't help us now for sure. Today is extremely bad after having little to no noise yesterday. Figure that out.

Never had a bit of tinnutus until Long Covid. Now it is always there, some days quieter than others. I can't figure out if there is a cause for the variation. My noise is like super high static noise. My doctor told me there was nothing to do about it. I keep telling myself that I might go away, since I do have an occasional quieter day.

@gnana6 I have never heard of any cure for this but the research is ongoing, stay away from advertisements claiming to have done so, it’s all lies. Tinnitus can make all sorts of noises in your head, most common one is ringing in your ears but it’s changed, today there’s so many noises and they all drive you crazy.

I have had tinnitus for many years, never giving me a break. I sounds like steam escaping from a radiator. It is really disheartening,

@truwomandi That is the perfect description of what it sounds like. Thank you. Now I know how to talk about this sound. I never had words for it before.

Certainly am. The volume varies. Right now it's very high and piercing.

@frouke sure do. A different sound everyday. Have experienced a day with little to no noise and then the next day horrible. Very frustrating. Different articles will tell you what can cause it and what certain foods, supplements to stay away from. How do they know that if they can’t come up with a cure?
