Has anyone used Cefdinir?
Hi, I have MAC but had not started meds yet. This morning I coughed up blood so went to the ER. They consulted with my Pulmonary Dr. and he has prescribed Azithromycin and Cefdinir. I have seen the Azithromycin on here by people using it. Has anyone taken Cefdinir and if so any problems with it. They are treating me for Bronchiectasis. A little nervous about the meds, but don't have much choice. Thanks so much, this site has been so helpful to me over the past 2 years. Barbara

I have been on cefdiner but it never seemed to do anything. I was kept off z pack or anything in that range do to mac. I was informed that you stay off it if you are going to treat for mac in the future. I have bronchiactisis plus mac plus PA now . Had lung cancer . Resected.

1 ReactionMy Mayo dr has me on cefdinir or cephalexin for 7 days at the beginning of each month. So I rotate the medication each month. I haven’t had any issues and have been in this regimen for several years.

That is a unique approach for BE treatment. Never heard of that!
