Has anyone used Cefdinir?

I have BE and have been on Cefdinir on two occasions; I take it immediately when my lungs begin to feel tight, I can hear a “rattle”/“wheeze” when I breathe, and I run a temp. My pulmonologist has given me meds in advance to begin to use as soon as I become symptomatic. Both times I was able to avoid pneumonia which is great! The only problem I had with Cefdinir was diarrhea and that was corrected by eating yogurt heavy with probiotics. Both times I took it for 14 days.

I forgot to answer your question; Yes they worked for me. I was also in Colistimethate at the time and had other bacteria as well.

Hi, thank you for your response. Last night I became so ill I thought I was going to die. I had chills, ached all over . When I got up to take ibuprofen I felt very dizzy and then broke out in a sweat. Called for my husband who helped me into the bathroom, I was afraid I would pass out on to the tiled floor. Severe diarrhea. I decided to stop the Cefdinir. I had already taken the 3 doses of Azithromycin ( over 3 days) so not sure which one made me so sick. Maybe both. I messaged my Pulmo Dr. I believe the ER misdiagnosed me because I don't have steady coughing and the amount of blood was miniscule and no blood since then.I have been doing a watch and wait per my Dr.'s instructions, so we shall see what he says when I see him end of March. I am so sorry to read about last night. I have not had any symptoms like that, but the diarrhea is constant and even lasts several days after I stop. I wonder if you have an another virus on top of everything else? I am in Ohio, and there are many bugs around, some of which include chills, aches and dizziness. My sister is in bed with that today as a matter of fact. I hope you feel better soon!

I feel like I now have the flu. Maybe that's what was going on the entire time. My temp rose to 102.3 so have been pumping Ibuprofen into me. Thanks for getting back to me. Hope you are doing well with your disease.
