COPD and acid reflux , which has acid reflux with COPD

@snoots Hi, I had acid reflux . I was prescribed famotidine . It worked very well . I had a dry skin problem . To try to see which drug caused the skin problem I was switched to omeprizole . I took it for a few months. The doctors kept increasing the dose. I stopped it and returned to taking Famotidine . I take 20 mg in the morning and 40 mg at night . It is an effective Pepsis and works great for me. No side effects of note.

I hope you have a prescription to take care of the reflux . If the contents of the stomach acid are inhaled it is going to be serious .
The Famotidine I use stops reflux for me . That is very important .

@crystalena i will see my pcp this week, gonna see if we can wean off the pantoprazole and do the famotidine morning and night instead of 40 at night. I really don’t see the other is doing any good

@snoots That may help . I was told today that my 60 mgs a day was not real healthy . I had a bout of C diff once. They say it stops some of the gut items that help keep it down . It’s always something . Bless Ya, Crystalena

@snoots I typed to you for 5 minutes then lost it . Grrrr 🙃 Anyway it is a bacterial infection of the colon . Causes horrible diarrhea and gas . It is hard to stop an attack. . I lost 15 lbs in a week. Finally took vancomycin. And got it under control, The older you are the easier it gets you . I overdoses on antibiotics optics. Killed most of the good bacteria in my gut. It takes over grows so fast it crowds the other so it can’t grow back. Some get fecal implants to restart the right bacteria’s. I control mine with diet . No fructose and no high fructose corn sugar . That is its favorite food . Been a while since I had any problem. But I don’t take chances . I have a surgery on my hand coming up. It’s hard to convince them no antibiotics .
