Long Covid has ruined my life and marriage
I have been battling the horrible effects from The Covid vaccine for three years now. It has totally ruined my life and my marriage. Being told that you are a mental case and are unable to do anything correct is some of the worst things people can say to you. The one person whom you thought was suppose to be there for you really has deserted you. The best thing to do is leave a toxic and mentally abusive relationship so you can start to try to heal. Is anyone else going thru this or am I the only one?

@suecedar1028 I have horrible neuropathy, brain fog, chronic fatigue, pain in my legs which affects me walking.
My husband has been helping me a lot. I think the last couple of months talking about it has helped. I am depressed about losing my job and everything I loved about my life. My dr did prescribe an antidepressant. Seems to be helping a little.
Praying that they continue research and find what can help us. Hugs

1 Reaction@jfbock my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor years ago. He has changed a lot. I had to learn to love the person he became. Now, I have changed and am a different person too. We do pray together and believe in a miracle that all this will go away. Thank you for your advice
Take care

3 Reactions@drbf I also have bone on bone in both knees and severe neuropathy. I've currently started back with another round of IVIG reatments for CIDP (Chronic Inflammatory Demylitating Polyneuopathy,) but it's to early to say whether I will see any kind of improvement.
THe most difficult part for me is that I was very healthy pre-covid and vaccines. I was an advanced yoga student and a daily walker for 20 + years. I recognize that being angry about this is not helping me, but it's so difficult not to find myself in a place of even remotely, acceptance.
It sounds like you were given EMG testing. When that little prickly rod is rolled on my feet, (not sure what that tool is called...lol) I too feel nothing. I have also been diagnoised with small fiber neuropathy and peripheral neuropathy all of which I hadnt a clue about before covid! Now it's absoultely screaming at me! Argh
@kiddo14 Aging together is a struggle. It takes a strong soul to love each other during these times. Including the end times for one of you. You both will be ok as the soul never dies; just our vessel. Remember all those that you've witnessed traveling. We're all different as creator wanted it that way. Carry loving soul, but remember some vessels are in extreme. pain. Leaving in pain, changes people vessels. Always remember the soul will separate from our vessels. Creator bless my friend.

Sorry you're having the issues with your husband. I have had to educate my doctors about Long-COVID and PVS. Here is some information I've posted on "Post Vaccine Syndrome" (PVS). Note Akiko Iwasaki is a good person to follow (Yale Medical - Immunology Dept Head, has her own Lab with a number of doctors doing research on this) .
My journey, I added Allergy/ Immunology to my list of doctors (my Neurologist gave referral - I would think a PCP could also give referral). They run a different set of Lab Work. First to find something that was out of range - something with IgG.

I listed the Symptoms Long Covid – PVS post-vaccination syndrome (very interesting)

“Question - What are the similarities and differences between long COVID and post-vaccination syndrome (PVS)?
Findings In this cross-sectional study of 682 individuals, machine learning models identified distinct symptoms between long COVID and PVS. Long COVID was characterized by brain fog, altered sense of smell, and shortness of breath, while PVS was associated with burning sensations, neuropathy, and numbness.”

“COVID-19 vaccines have been instrumental in reducing the impact of the pandemic, preventing severe illness and death, and they appear to protect against long COVID. However, some individuals have reported chronic symptoms that developed soon after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. This little-understood, persistent condition, referred to as post-vaccination syndrome (PVS), remains unrecognized by medical authorities, and little is known about its biological underpinnings.”

The Yale LISTEN Study Town Hall: October 2023
The entire Town Hall is very interesting, here are 4 sections I found enlightening.
8:00 minute - Difference in Percent of Participants Experiencing Symptom (Long Covid – PVS post-vaccination syndrome; Note: the graphic chart is informative)
Long Covid –
Memory problems, Changed sense of smell, Brain fog, Shortness of breath, Cough, Sore throat, Excessive fatigue, Difficulty speaking properly, Changed sense of taste, Fatigue, Congested or runny nose, Phantom smells, Runny nose, Phlegm in back of throat, Headache, Constant thirst, Night sweats, Hypersomnia, Confusion, Insomnia, Hair loss, Dry scalp or dandruff, Dizziness, Throat pain or discomfort, Postnasal drip, Exercise Intolerance, Wheezing, Swollen hands or feet, Cold/burning lung sensation, Changes in voice, Phantom tastes
PVS -
Loss of hearing, Suicidal thoughts, Feelings of impending doom, Palpitations, Tinnitus, Numbness, Internal vibration, Neuropathy, Burning sensations
There may be some newer information on PVS.
Also, I remember someone on Mayo Clinic Connect saying it was a mold issue -- https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/its-mold-illness-stupid/
There is also "Long COVID Research Consortium" https://polybio.org/longcovid/
It’s been a journey researching, educating doctors from my research, finding doctors I didn't know existed...
Best wishes to you!

I am so sorry. This is unbelievably hard. I can relate.
I had my own business for over 25 years and have had to give it up. I am older now, but I used to do CrossFit so I know what you're talking about with having to give up the yoga outlet. I know it's not the same, but a lot of people get relief from Yoga Nidra, which you can find on YouTube.
I was a cyclist. My job involved a lot of physicality and travel, thinking hard, writing, interacting with families, and problem-solving. I was nearing retirement, but didn't want to go out this way.
I have had EMG testing on my lower body, but the test was years before that. I think my doctor used what is called a Medipin on my feet.
When I had EMG testing, it was excruciating. I have post-herpetic neuralgia in my left leg.
That might have been small fiber neuropathy, but it dissipated. My feet still clench and unclench involuntarily.

This is incredible information. Thank you.
Things are getting better after many sit downs to hear out both sides. We are working together to get thru this. Now we need more education and research to help us get back to who we were before getting sick.

1 Reaction@fourleaf , wow, thanks for posting that info. It is helpful as I review the post covid symptoms. I was diagnosed with Post Covid Syndrome late 2023. I had quite a few of the listed symptoms, but not fatigue, exhaustion or fog. I am grateful for that. I’m also grateful that I have seen significant improvement over this past year. Especially, the last month.
Can someone describe what physical pain you encountered with yours? I know what pain I had and suspect it was also part of the post covid syndrome. Just want to make sure. I’d like to share what treatment I took, but want to make sure I’m on the right thread.

I tolerated the first two Covid vaccines well. After each booster I became ill with Covid. It hard because no believes
that is possible and frequently tell me I’m wrong. First booster maybe a fluke but the second time there is a correlation. Can’t tell you how many people have told me I’m wrong!!! On oxygen 24/7 and will never be the same. Significantly changed my life with multiple limitations!

1 Reaction@kiddo14 I. loss my husband in 2019 ..a year before I got covid-19. I was never the same really after it. My balance was off I began to swagger. I was diagnosed with parkinsonian symptoms. I had difficulty walking and resorted to a cane! I have had covid at least two to three times more. I've had two booster shots in 2023 when I went into a rehab after having surgery. I explained that I had already had my booster shot and they gave me another one. after the second shot I had Isea which is A paralyzation of the bowel. I was just delivered to the rehab place in an ambulance and they had to call the ambulance to take me back to the hospital. I had extreme pain. My vision was affected. I had what was called Vertical Heterophoria. I spent many visits to an ophthalmologist and to the Casey Eye Clinic and to the Elks Clinic to have prisms made for my glasses! I wear a 10 prism glasses now! This has affected my ability to drive my mobility and my overall well-being. Without glasses I see double. The eyes don't converge! I have extreme fatigue and at times fog brain. The non alignment of my eyes wears me down! I know others that after the vaccine had double vision! I am pretty much homebound! The parkinsonian symptoms are not as bad. still with vertical heterophoria there is a problem with depth perception. I have to wear the glasses all the time and I never had to wear glasses all the time. My driver's license shows no need of glasses! now it is a must or I see two of everything everything! I'm tired before the day begins. I have joint pain. Yet I've had a friend that got covid and passed away! Blessed if I can say that and even feel that that I am alive! I will be 82. Before Covid. I never thought there was anything that I couldn't do! Aging I defied as much as possible!
