Breathing issues after receiving Covid shots?
I'm wondering if anyone other than me is experiencing any breathing issues after receiving the Covid shots. I have developed extreme shortness of breath, so much so that I'm on oxygen 24/7. I have to stop halfway up a flight of stairs and rest until I can breathe normally. Getting dressed is an ordeal. I don't do much of anything around the house because I get out of breath so quickly. I tire easily. I've been to 3 different pulmonologists and none of them can figure out why I'm having problems. My lungs are clear. I've gone through a battery of tests each time and the tests say I should be fine. Up until I had to get the shots, I was perfectly healthy. I'm currently 73.
If anyone reading this has had or is experiencing any of these symptoms, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!

@gareee314 I’m sorry you’re going through so much trouble with your health, I hope that it’s getting better for you soon, it’s very possible that the vaccine can cause you more problems because it interferes with your current health issues. I still worry about the vaccine but it’s a big step to stop relying on it, I have taken other vaccines for RSV, pneumonias and the flu just to be sure, I sometimes wish that we knew everything that doctors know about it but they don’t share with us and that remains troubling.

Have you seen a cardiologist? At age 79 my mother-in-law, who was very active and playing (walking) 18 holes of golf, suddenly experienced symptoms similar to yours and went on oxygen 24/7. After the third trip to the ER a cardiologist was consulted. She had a hole in her heart. It was patched and she immediately went back to the way she was. She is 98 now.
@celia16: Thanks for your questions. My O2 level fluctuates, depending on whether I'm active or sitting. If I move from one room to another, or change clothes or some similar activity, my oxygen drops to 70, my lips turn blue, and I get tired and have to rest. I only go out for doctor appointments anymore, because even the walk from the house to the car tires me. By the time I've gone through visiting the doctor, coming home and walking into the house, I'm exhausted. If I'm stationary and not doing much movement (like now) my O2 is at 98 - 100. Pulmonologists say my lungs are fine; I've been through a battery of different tests, but everything points to no issues with my lungs. I don't take breathing treatments - that's a great idea I will ask my doctor about. And yes, I've had SO many blood tests, it's surprising I have any left. I'm just so frustrated because no one can find a cause. My poor husband is doing 95% of inside work, plus maintaining the yard, running errands, getting groceries, etc. I used to keep my house spotless; now I see piles of dog hair (we have 3) and rugs that need cleaning. I expected my retirement years to be active and fun, but I'm stuck inside 90% of the time. I hate it.
@browndognotnow: Interesting. I've never had an issue with my breathing until after receiving the #$&! shots. I've also noticed an increase in my UTI infections; although I have had a few previous to the shots. Looking forward to your report from the Pulmonologist. Good luck!
@gareee314: That's the same where I live. When I talked with nurses during the times I was hospitalized, most of them did not take the shots; although I know some hospitals made it mandatory if they wanted to continue working there.
@jrkittel: Yes, I'm seeing a Cardiologist, and I'm on Eliquis for my heart. He doesn't, however, feel there's a link between my heart and my breathing problems.
Glad your mom is back to her old self!
Prior to getting COVID vaccines, I did not have lung issues. Yes, I have a history of smoking. However, I have had CTs done on my lungs and they find no problem with my lungs. They do PFTs and no problems with my lungs. I do not have asthma or COPD. I have not smoked in over 13 years. However, after getting the COVID vaccine, I started having breathing issues. I get out of breath, I start wheezing. When my saturation level is checked, I drop down into the 80s while walking. When I am sleeping my saturation level drops down into the 70s. I am on oxygen during the night. I am on oxygen while walking around or being active. If I remain in a chair just sitting there and not exerting myself at all, I can maintain my saturation in a low 90s.
So... even though I smoked, my history of smoking is not causing my current breathing issue. If it was, it would show up in the CT or the PFTs. It does not. oh... I am now 58.
