@anniegirl0903 My rheumatologist attributes the increased bruising to the combination of inhaled steroids and Plavix (a blood thinner) - he calls it an "additive response." Sometimes I have to add a short course of steroids for an RA flare, and then I can bruise just by touching my own leg or arm.
But the medications allow me to live a more normal life, so I just go around looking like someone is beating me 🤪. It has caused more than one provider to ask "Are you safe at home?" And I often find myself wearing slacks or yoga pants even in warm weather if I go out among strangers.
@sueinmn thanks for the info, I've been on an inhaler that is a steroid for years plus Prednisone several times during the past 6 months so perhaps this is the cause of the bruising.
@anniegirl0903 Do you also take a daily aspirin? Or NSAID medications like ibuprofen? All of these can make bruising worse.

1 Reaction@sueinmn I just take a baby aspirin every other day.
@char1234 I can deal with the bruising and the very dry skin on my legs and feet, but I can't deal with losing my hair, which is a side effect. I see my lung specialist tomorrow, June 24 and I will probably stop taking Brinsupri.
I could deal with the side effects if I felt better but I don't let me know what the doc says
@anniegirl0903 I am also dealing with hair loss which is very depressing. What dose are you on? I am taking 25 mg and wonder if 10 mg would give me good lung results but also slow the hair loss.
@maryjanechilds
Can you say more about the hair loss. Are you noting more hair in the brush or drain, or actually less on your head.
@maryjanechilds
I have had terrible hair loss. Actual bald spots. I had trouble with thyroid pills, and sometimes that causes some hair loss. This is beyond any thyroid problem I have ever had.
also have circles of dry skin that are dry. These are on arms, hands and shins. They peel open, and are pink underneath. I saw dermatologist, she said keep eye on it, and she wasn't sure what they were. Go back in October.
I don't see Pulmonary till end of July. I don't want to see his NP.. My opinion is, they just don't know what my doctor know, how could they? She sent me home with Covid and Flu last year! It is so hard to see a doctor!
I still have cough, just a little less sputum. My joints hurt
Maybe they would anyway! I am on 10 mg. since Feb. 1st.. I wonder if this is worth it. I'm getting depressed over my hair..
@scoop I think what’s happening is my hair is just not growing so that what normally falls out is not being replaced. It is particularly noticeable on the crown of the head. The fact that I am rarely needing to shave my legs is one of the reasons I believe my hair is just not growing.
