What cholesterol med instead of crestor

Posted by ronludington @ronludington, Dec 17, 2025

I was put on Kevzara which raised my ldl (141) and triglycerides(155) total c (217) My GP put me on 10 mg crestor. Slowly increasing muscle pain (in neck and back) (weak legs) until after 2 weeks I stopped for 2 days, started back by splitting the pills to 5mg and taking every other day. No good , pain returned. Stopped for 3 days, feel pretty good today.
So, what alternative is there that's not going to make this come back ? And being I'm on a biologic allready. Repatha is out.

@jlharsh

It appears that it does not increase Metabolic Syndrome.

Also take a look at it's effect on Lp(a).

You could try ezetimibe. Also, add 10g soluble fiber to your diet (psyllium husk powders like Metamucil, for example.)

@gmop3z Look at OTC Red Yeast Rice and Garlic. I take both and have lowered my levels by 20% even though they were really just borderline before. Also take fiber pills; moving everything through regularly will also decrease your numbers.
