The only side effects I have on Besremi are a dry mouth (I drink a lot of water and use Biotene) and it sometimes affects my sleep: either I have trouble falling asleep or wake up and can't go back to sleep. I don't stress because I know it may last a few days but then settles down again. I much prefer coping with that than HU.
Good luck!

@garyintlv Thank you for that. What were you side effects on HU? I am getting really frustrated and losing hope for ever getting past this fatigue. Glad you are doing well

@mib

I'm helped by and so grateful for HU, but holy moly, it dries out my skin, toes to -- lips!

Every day, I drink lots of water and use lots of lotion and lip balm.

What works for you?

@mdramsey48 I haven't taken HU. My comment was based on what I have read.

@mib I have a diagnosis of Sjögren’s disease now. My dry mouth and eyes started before ET diagnosis. Not sure if I really have it or if it is a side effect of ET, but I am very asking a medication that helps with symptoms. I find all my mucous membranes have been affected.

@mib. I just want to make sure I’m understanding your situation. You have a bridge with one of the teeth under a crown where there have been some changes to the tooth. Was this the root area seen on a dental X-ray?

You mentioned that there is some resorption of the tooth. Resorption is a process where the body breaks down and absorbs the structure of a tooth. may be influenced by number of factors such as inflammation or possibly medications.

Have you talked to your hematologist and your dentist about the possible link with hydroxy? What has your dentist suggested regarding the bridge?

@eloise999 My Sjogren's diagnosis was confirmed after a lip biopsy. Honestly, I don't know which is worse the Sjogren's or the lip biopsy. Water is my best friend!
