I am new here and just recently found out I have neuropathy.
How do you deal with unpredictable neuropathy pain? I don’t have any meds for it yet. It hits my feet and calves of my legs.

I’ve done a little reading about retraining the brain and I don’t understand. Is it just focusing more something else so you forget the PN pain?
No, don’t know the cause of my PN. But, I use hempvana for nerve pain and capcaisin. They help. I’m walking more-different routes. We will see.
@arcuri24 I have tried Hempvana for nerve pain and Capzasin-HP. I’m liking the Capzasin-HP better. My toes feel almost normal.
@arcuri24 I used to live on West End at UWS and work in Midtown East. A number of gyms have pools. I know the Westside ymca has pool aerobic classes and open swimming. Chelsea Piers has a great one. I used the one at Peninsula Hotel near work, as they also let me use the one in Chicago . The city has public pools all around.

I am using Lidocaine patch but my neurologist also mentioned capsaicin for pain relief on my shin. So far the patch is providing some pain relief and I am glad that it does not have side effects like many of the oral medications. I also used Wise Men healing balm which contains frankincense and myrrh. It is nice to feel normal, isn't it? I guess we have to keep trying to see what works.

Thanks for the info on pools. I live in the borough of Queens so Manhattan pools are not that accessible. A YMCA is one block away but does not have a pool. Some years back I went to a pool in a private community near Junction Blvd but they no longer let public in. I will have to keep investigating pools in my area. There is always the beach but I am not that great a swimmer plus riptides have been strong lately. Plus, I really can't stand too much sun. So far, the lidocaine patch is easing the shin pain so that is a big improvement for me.
Is it chemo related? Diabetes related? I have neuropathy too and I use this. It's in toes and bottoms of feet. This is the only thing I have found that helps. It's from Dermavitality and they make products for cancer patients. All natural. Oh well it says file too big to post picture but you can Google and go to website. It really works.
@granny73 Retraining the brain is a complex neuroscientific conversation. But I have used things like meditation to calm my mind during times of stress and anxiety. Millions of people meditate. You might want to learn a little about it. it's not hard to learn but you get better with practice.
