@hopefullibrarian Hi, Good luck with your experiment. Are you taking any pharmaceutical specifically to treat osteoporosis?

1 Reaction@michieg I will look into it and ask my doctor, although at 76 I've been told it's not recommended. I recently started using Estradiol vaginal tablets because I was having light spotting. I had two D&C's which were normal, and then my gyno prescribed them for me.
@malliecallie
How are you doing with Native Path ? Was going to move to Algecal but worried about amino acid supplementation and side effects. Any efficacy?

3 Reactions@teb I was looking up Calcium for my osteoporosis & saw this collogen product. Do you take calcium as well? I have had osteoporosis since I was 30, thats 34yrs & have refused all the drugs after taking Fosamax for 1yr, until I read about all the s/e from these drugs. I read they only make a change for so many years so you have to keep using different drugs. I did not like what they did to the jaw bone either.

2 ReactionsNewly prescribed fosamax and scared to take it. Suggestions?
@laura1961 I don't take calcium any longer since there's a possible link to calcification of the arteries so I try to get what I need from whole foods. I calculate my nutrition on cronometer.com to make sure I'm getting my calcium needs met along with all the other essential nutrients.

1 Reaction@daisy17 I just listened to a podcase with Dr. Sharon Malone (https://www.drsharonmalone.com/) and Dr. Mark Hyman. They both agreed that HRT needs to start early and there is not benefits of taking it for our bones at our age. That set well with me. 🙂

1 Reaction@teb After learning that most minerals in supplements crystalize in the small intestines unless there is a delivery system taking them beyond, I strongly believe the calcium warnings are because there is so much unused calcium left hanging around in the body.
I learned 50 years ago that we were absorbing less than 10% of store shelf/Amazon supplements...and honestly - nothing has debunked that. Lots of confirmation keeps coming...
I have used a calcium supplement for 34 years that has a patented delivery formula preventing that crystallization and upping absorption as much as 10 times others.
Even with heart history in my family...I am doing well! (grateful!!)
Which calcium supplement are you using?
