Can gabapentin cause muscle pain and cramps in arms & legs?
Has anyone ever had the experience of Gabapentin causing severe muscle cramps in arms and legs and muscular pain and feeling of weakness? I know it is supposed to basically do the opposite and help with muscular problems......but this has happened twice to me as soon as I started the gaba and it was very severe,

You're so right! Big Pharma is utterly and completely profit driven. Their
disregard for the truth and dangers associated with the drugs they throw into the market is reprehensible if not downright illegal. The FDA approving drugs based on "clinical trials" where as few as TWO people took part smacks of collusion with Bug Pharma. And here we are - all the countless people who suffer dangerous side effects - getting none of the hoped for health benefits -
and getting no truthful answers to our questions. We can only keep asking questions and search wherever we can for the answers. Take care of yourself

1 ReactionIt's getting crazy. I will, you too.
Big pharma is the biggest drug dealers out there one pill leads to 1 or 2 pain management had me on the 325 pills a month
I had a total knee replacement 3 yrs ago with poor results. Need the other knee replacement but not wanting to go through this again! Seeing pain management for pain pills which I take 5 x daily. This helps for 4 hours. They added gabapentin which did increase the time between pain meds. I found out there needs to be about 2 hours between these two meds (do not take them at the same time)! This week I’ve had hamstring Charlie horses! My right hamstring is so tight. I’m hoping it’s not the gabapentin, but the extra housework I’ve been doing …
I tried Gabapentin for just a couple nights and it caused bad restless legs.
Why in the world with poor results would you get the other knee done. I had my done 14 months ago and it did not go well for me neither but I certianly would not do the other knee even though it is also bad. No freaking way.

1 ReactionI only use advil or tylenol and the current time. My pain seems to be in my entire body now and just not the knee.

1 ReactionI think it is a wise idea to check drug interactions. Many times patients are prescribed meds that would be helpful unless the person is taking other medications that may affect the result of gabapentin. It may be a good drug in it's own right but the other medications will diminish the effect of gabapentin and can cause other problems.
I’m on 600mg of gabapentin and very blessed and having just a small window of about 2 hours of mild to minimal ‘loopiness’!
It has taken away 100% of my sciatica pain and what a blessing that is!
I have a brother who has been on 600mg for 8 years with mild loopiness just like myself!
HOWEVER, I’ve heard about all kinds of different types of side effects!!
My friend had to stop as it made her feet spasm so bad she couldn’t walk!😳
Hello,
I was prescribed Gabapentin for a burning skin issue. It did help. Then I did some research on the drug. One of the side effects is bone loss which I cannot afford to happen. I already have osteoporosis so I immediately stopped taking Gabapentin.
@misseygirl
Bone loss is a likely side effect with long term use use.
