How many of you have tried Lyrica (Pregabalin) in doses from 600 mg?
I have had Lumbar stenosis and cervical spondylitis for over 8 years. It hurts from a level8 to level10 pain at the worst times.
I have gone to over 10 pain doctors and they all kicked me out bcause I consumed more pain med than prescribed “because it hurts so bad”.
I got a new pain dr and he prescribed me a different time release pain med which I will pick uo tomorrow.
In the meantime I am taking 600 to 1200 mg of Pregabilin which helped me sleep. When I woke up today, my terrible pain had subsided to a level4.
I could suddenly walk a again without any stiffness.
No side effects. Does not make me high at all.
Check with your doctor. I assume no responsibility for any adverse effect someone may experience as a result of doing what I did.
CHECK WITH YOUR DR.

@ardeecor i have nerve pain stemming from my spinal stroke that damaged my spinal cord. It worked really well for my nerve pain. Especially since nerve pain is so hard to treat. I had to stop taking it because it made me way too tired. Like 2 hour naps a couple times a day. That was MY system’s reaction. I know plenty of people that take it without that side effect.

1 ReactionI have been on Lyrica for 7 years. This is in conjunction with Physeptone for a damaged nerve (a bad spinal fusion surgery). It does work! BUT very, very addictive! If I miss taking it, within 2-3 hours I go into full on withdrawal symptom's. I have tried lots of other things, but this drug works for me. Besides constipation and some tiredness - it is good.

1 ReactionI cannot seem to find Physeptone in my drug guide. Can you please verify spelling?
Physeptone is a brand-name formulation of methadone hydrochloride, a potent, synthetic opioid. It is primarily prescribed for the management of severe, chronic pain and in the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD).
@jenatsky
Hi,
Physeptone is Methadone.
I take 5 mg's 3 x times a day
@jacque45 Now I understand you’re in the UK. Have you considered looking into buprenorphine as an alternative to methadone? It comes in different formulations and I use the patches that provide 24/7 pain relief. There is a formulation Suboxone for people who have addiction issues as well. Here is a primer for you.

Here is NHS take on the medication and it’s known as Transtec for your benefit.

I live in Australia. Thanks for the website info.
My pain specialist is not concerned about the low amount of Physeptone I take, its more the Lyrica he thinks long term is not great. I would rather a alternated to that, but have tried many, many other types. For nerve pain usually you try either a drug for treating Epilepsy, or a anti-depressant. Lyrica falls into a neurological type . Anti-depressants have too many side effects for me. I also do have a Spinal cord stimulator implant that helps keep sharp un-expected jolts of pain at bay (not too much else). But I manage ok. Keep fit, keep weight down are the biggest helpers you can do for yourself.
