Afib over?

Posted by bohaiboy @bohaiboy, 1 day ago

Had my PFA today. All went well. Almost. Dual catheters. Had to remove some scar tissue from previous RF ablation 20 years ago . Have not seen final report as to exactly what was done. He talked to my wife but I was in recovery when he did. Took about 2-1/2 hrs. Closed catherization sites with plug made from collagen. Seems to have worked well. Released after three hours.

The bad news is he recommends a watchman based on what he saw. Will find out more next week.

I’ve had watchman since March’23 and stent in LAD August’19
All for Afib…. Am now on 50mgs of Amiodarone could not tolerate higher mgs, I’m a female 91 years young and still going strong! Would definitely recommend Watchman! My 91st birthday picture

The PFA and Watchman procedures were performed concurrently. I highly recommend the Watchman device. Discontinuation of Eliquis is advised. Bob

OMG you look fantastic, and Happy Birthday and many more!! You are an inspiration to me and I am quit sure to many others! I am only 78 and a mere youngester in comparison, I have been very healthy until recently when 3 months ago I was diagnosed with a-fib. It was found on a yearly wellness visit by my internist and then a referral to my cardiologist who had been monitoring me for a mitral valve prolapse which was not presenting any problems. My a-fib is totally asymptomatic so I was very blessed that they caught this. I am now on two meds metoprolol and eliquis and have become very proactive with this new journey and hopefully can keep my a-fib at a minimum. So far no side effects so will carry on and again am inspired by you! Thank you for posting.

@healthconscious
Good luck, and I still say The Watchman is the best, I only take baby aspirin and 50mgs of Amiodarone! Feel great and Afib mostly under control. Thanks for responding and good luck to you!
