Masturbation at late age

Posted by newrochelle1131 @newrochelle1131, Feb 27, 2025

Is it normal for men over 70 (without medical prob;ems) to masturbate? How often? Any adverse effects? Are there natural ways to increase the production of seminal fluid?

Don't know I have a gay friend who went through the same thing he is a bottom meaning other men have sexual intercourse with him he says he still gets pleasure from it .. I guess you'd have to try it ..

My father, who overshares, told me at age 89 that he was, uh, not stopping yet. Reading the comments, I'd say you have everyone's permission to be like my dad.

You should feel great knowing your dad is so comfortable with you, he has no problem sharing something so personal with you (and good for him)!

Delayed ejaculation was a lifetime problem for me due in part to antidepressants. My doctors say that Bupropion has the lowest rate of delayed ejaculation.

@newrochelle1131 not to my knowledge. I mentioned it to my urologist’s PA and she had not heard of that happening.

I suggest, as it worked for me, is to focus on ejaculating out your penis. I tighten the sphincter in my bladder. It’s like squeezing the last bit of urine from your bladder then relax so you can pee. The physiology of ejaculation through the penis is achieved by the bladder’s sphincter closing so that sperm doesn’t enter the bladder.

@jandrewHello O am not sure how to ejaculate sperm from my penis. When I masturbate at the very end a tiny amount of white liquid comes out of my penis. I miss seeing white cum. How can stop going into bladder?

Hi.
Are there any conferences in NYC, related to male sexual functioning in their 70 and 80s?
Are the conferences ongoing or just date-specific?
Thanks.

@newrochelle1131 I don’t know of any conferences but if you want to see a doctor on the subject consider making an appointment with Doctor John Mulhall at MSK . His office is on 64th Street. He is very thorough .

@bwjb Absolutely correct, when I changed to Bupropion (Wellbutrin) everything went back to normal:-)

I think is very ok. If I don’t do it once a week at least I get very grumpy.

Not if it is in public. It seems to me that most men masturbate as soon as they can and then as long as they can. Moderation is probably best: use it or lose it, but don't make it a fixation. FYI, I won't be posting a pic.

@stevebritt006 I could only think you're choking/squeezing that puppy a bit to hard? Cuming too often also reduces the chance for modest build up of seminal fluid. A typical ejaculate yields \(2\) to \(5\) milliliters of fluid, of which only about \(1\) to \(5\%\) is actual sperm cells; the rest is seminal plasma. Semen levels PARTIALLY replenish within 12 to 24 hours after ejaculation, but it takes 2 to 3 days for seminal vesicles to fully restore maximum volume. Because the body continuously manufactures sperm, the supply is generally never completely depleted, though the overall volume in a single ejaculation will noticeably decrease with frequent release.

@stevebritt006 you might be experiencing what is called retrograde ejaculation where instead of discharging out the urethra, it goes into your bladder and then included with urine. Ask a doc because it might mean your prostate is crimping the duct. It iscalso a side effect ofvtaking Flowmax, which is tamulosin given for enlarged prostate.
