Yes. Under my primary care provider and my neurologist. Begin in late summer of 2017. Completed in January 2018. No problems. I was afraid. I had a seizure risk from the withdrawal and a craniotomy done in 2014. I have never gone back to this class of drugs.

How did you taper off. I am looking for a very safe way. I am considering a compounded liquid, but maybe buying a scale and shaving off pieces might work better.
I applaud you for you valiant and brave effort of tapering and getting completely off.
I've been on .5 daily for six months and have been told it will take two years at 81????
Any thoughts!!

@gunshy I will never go to these people. They can not work for me. It is well established practice to taper 5-10% at a time and to move to the next stage when ready. Some people have symptoms and they very a lot. Just a few people do not have.
Most of us have been on bezos due to medical reasons, anxiety, PSSD etc. These problems may not go away and I will have to find another way to deal with them.

Yes, it is BS. The doctor wasn't even licensed in my state; I checked with the licensing board. When I asked him point blank, he said he did not know but thought there was paperwork in the works and it was just a matter of time. Well, where I live orders won't be filled if the doctor is not licensed in the state!!! Fortunately he did say he would give me a refund. Will wait and see.
How are you doing with the shaving off and weighing tapering? And what kind of scale did you get? That same day I confronted the ST founder, my GP, who is retiring, passed me on to a nurse practitioner who comes once a week who I have yet to get an appointment with. So I feel like I am limbo once again after multiple attempts to find someone who could help me taper and most take one down way too fast.

@rosebookay everyone is different. If one starts having trouble at a taper level, stick with it for longer, is what I’ve read. Had a panic attack last night and took a bit more Ativan; bad idea - and won’t do it again. It’s a complicated process and different for everyone, depending on many factors - length on drug & strength

How did you taper off. My dr. is recommending a water taper disolving a .5 mg tablet in 200 mg water. I read that it doesn't disolve well so the doses would be inconsistent? Have you tried it or know of any one who had and how it worked for them?

@gunshy I did a water taper from Klonopin and it was great! No withdrawal symptoms

Tapering is not so complicated.
1. It was prescribed for something.
Did did help or not?
NO - If it did not, you have to stop it gradually as I mentioned. 5-10% tapering. This is not like quitting alcohol, cigarettes or gambling where the only way is cold T.
YES - Why do you want to stop it and will you be able to function to manage your disorder or whatever problem you had ?

*** I just bought a scale from amazon for 10Euro that could measure 0.002g, but it has not arrived yet, so no feedback. If its not working I will use water a medium.
*** For me life is giving me more "side effects" then benzos. As long as I do not take more then 1.5mg/day I consider that I am on the safe side. I am determined to stop it because it does not work for me any longer.

@rosebookay 8 weeks too fast? I'm 2 weeks off Seroquel and I'm finally sleeping it may be only 5 hours of sleep because my nervous system is still not calm down but I have general anxiety disorder so my nervous system is never going to calm down completely. So I'll never get 8 hours of sleep So far so good I'm so glad I'm off it

@synthiame I have GAD with panic attacks so I can related somehow. 5 hours of sleep is plenty + 2-3 more hours of rest. So far so good and you will be able to sleep even longer, just do not worry about it and appreciate your 5 hours sleep you have.

How did you drop your doses, like how much over how much time? At what mg did you start.
I am on .5 mg, divided in to two does of .25 a day.
DId you use the Safe Taper program?
How did you even does as there is sediment on the bottom?

It doesn't work well for me either, shaky and nauseous in the am and wake up night several times feeling bad. Please keep me posted on yow your dry weight taper goes. Do you plan to go down 5 percent a month using a hyperbolic curve for the next dose>

Has anyone on here had any respiratory slowing with clonazepam. I have had two sleep studies that show a slight decrease in oxygen saturation but only for a couple of seconds for a few periods. Usually when supine. Does not happen on my side. I know it slows your breathing.

How long were you on it? 8 weeks is generally far too fast for ANY benzo withdrawal.
