Hello @stockettman, Welcome to Connect. I've had small fiber peripheral neuropathy for 20+ years but I only have numbness in my feet and just above the ankles as a symptom. I have no medical training or background but I've done lots of searching for answers like you are doing now. As far as I know there is no cure for neuropathy. I think there are specific types of neuropathy where it can be reversed like in diabetic neuropathy or when a nerve is compressed by an injury and surgery can relieve the compression of the nerve.
I'm tagging our moderator @lisalucier to see if we should move your post to the following discussion where it will have more visibility. It's a great question and I know there are others asking the same thing or at least thinking about it.

I am just wondering if anyone has been successful in reversing their neuropathy?
Hi, @stockettman - I wanted to add my welcome to @johnbishop's to Mayo Clinic Connect. As johnbishop requested, I moved your discussion and combined it with this one, "Living with Neuropathy - Welcome to the Group."
I'm sure many have wondered about the question you posed about whether anyone has been successful in reversing their neuropathy. I'd also like to introduce you to @jola65 @margottaylor @grandmar @jenniferhunter @mlross4508 @mathewv @johnhans and others in this conversation.
What symptoms have you had from your neuropathy, @stockettman?
That depends on what you call reversal @stockettman If someone has neuropathy because of spine problems and has it corrected by surgery, the neuropathy may go away if the numbness has not been for long. The way a doctor explained to me was that if nerves are not killed, and the cause of the nerve damage has been corrected, then those nerves may regenerate to a degree. Those completely dead cannot come back no matter what is done to correct the problem. For a more complete explanation, and more medically correct answer you would need to ask a doctor about your specific situation.
Hi, I am new here! I had left arm neuralgia that was unbearable. With Lyrica it disappeared years ago. Now I have an appointment with the doctor, I have pains that move around ( three main places) I am sure my neuralgia is back, ( probably just covered up by Lyrica) Hope it will do something for the pain. I am here to learn. Does anyone know of vitamins that help? I’ve been on statins for years, wondering if that has contributed to my neuralgia ??
Hi @terryo, Welcome to Connect. I did read that fibromyalgia can have symptoms of pain that moves around. You might want to read through the following discussion and post your questions here:

I have had small fiber peripheral neuropathy for 20+ years but only have numbness and no pain associated with it. I posted my story and what helps me earlier on Connect here: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/anyone-here-dealing-with-peripheral-neuropathy/?pg=42#comment-65985
I did find an article discussing vitamins that may help with pain which are some of the ones I take for my neuropathy.

Are you still taking statins for a health condition?
Thank you for your wonderful response, my doctor insists I take statins, but I am going to try to lower my cholesterol then tell her I’d like to stop. I am reading of how to lower it. I will read the articles you just mentioned to me. Thank you so much!
Hi @terryo -- I had that same discussion with my doctor. You may already know this but might find it helpful.

Hello, @gojuman - thinking of you and what you shared about the numbness. How is that going? Did you have your neurology appointment?
I have just joined this group. I am 70 years old and have had diabetes for about 30 years. I have had neuropathy in my feet that has gotten progressively worse over time. Gabapentin does not seem to help but the pain has been tolerable. But lately I’ve started having terrible pain in both of my hands. It seems to be worse at night and is becoming intolerable.
