Diet plan for neuropathy
Where can I get a specific diet to follow for neuropathy? I need specifics. I am 71 and newly found out I have neuropathy. I am not diabetic and overweight slightly but basically active and healthy.
Also, where can I find simple gentle exercises to do at home to help?
Thank you.

It sounds like you are already taking steps to help with your neuropathy. I'm 83 now and trying to stay more active and eat healthier also but wished I would have started earlier in life. I was in my mid 70s when I started working on managing my weight and exercising more. Not sure if you have heard about intermittent fasting but there is another discussion that helped me early on my journey here:

How long have you been dealing with neuropathy symptoms? Do you have neuropathy pain?

Does anyone have idiopathic sensory neuropathy which is what I have. Is there a support group for us. I do not have diabetes - am 82 years old and see an acupuncturist plus I take alpha lipoic acid and hear it really helps. I also do physical exercise every day M-F 30 minus +10 weight bearing exercise too. It all helps. Looking for my group but guess we are all the same with the same symptoms.
My neuropathy is due to my having "silent celiac" disease. I do not have the digestive disorders that many celiac patients have. I am in another group where the disease manifests with neuropathy and lots of sensitivity to the environment. As per my IgA test results and in accord with my neurologist's instructions, I must maintain a strict gluten free diet-no wheat, no rye, no barley etc. I was doing rather well with my neuropathy until I had a shin shave biopsy this past December. Now my neuropathy has been irritated by this procedure because the dermatologist may have disturbed some peripheral nerves in my shin. I do feel better on the gluten free diet. Of course, I am limited and the food I buy needs to be of high quality and gluten-free means a higher price. Stil, no medications needed!
