What cognitive therapies have been helpful for you?
I was curious if people could list the types of cognitive therapies that were successful for them.
My doctors said to engage in any mental activity.

@martinvandyk understood, I was there for a very long time and some of the same issues but have over time did some recovering and still am after almost 3 years this next year of mental retraining and healing. i Could and on occasion should not say anything but that wouldn't be me. i was a leaded of many different jobs and then a tumor took me down and now i am back and coming on strong and try to pass on what i can to help anyone struggles with their fears. i don't give up or sit idle i have to do even if it is to make you smile a short smile to your inner self. Bet you i make you unintentionally smile internally at my caring on. so with that have a blessed day today and wish someone a Happy Mothers Day.

I am with you on a lot of what you said. We must avoid things that annoy and frustrates us. Outdoors is the key. I have had an animal refuge for 16 years, no dogs or cats, just: turkeys, chickens, ducks, bunnies, guinea pigs, turtles and a resent surrender, an old goose. They are a joy to watch and understand their actions, and how they interact with each other. I learn something everyday with them, and they always make me laugh. Being a human is hard. Animals have a much more simplistic life. This morning, after parading the flock in the front yard, I sat on the porch with binoculars trying to figure out what kind of wild ducks were flying around town the past few weeks. After Googling, and consulting my birding book, discover they are Black Bellied Whistling ducks. Showed my guys and pressed voice so they can hear and see what kind of birds they were. They paid attention, and was in aw how I was able to make the duck sound and show the ducks on a tablet. When we interact with another species, we learn much about ourselves.

3 Reactions@randallshields56 I have become increasingly quiet as well. Yet I call up a friend once a week and ask if we ought to go out for a coffee at Tim Horton's. And we chat about topics that have proved to be of current interest. God bless.

Right now I currently don't have one here other than family or a caregiver. Still a friend but different relationship. It's still healing for me and praying 🙏 that it gets better. We'll have a wonderful and blessed day today 🙏

CBT w/o animals is just a lot of pressure. Closest human stuff that has helped for many years is following and engaging when/where possible in Alanon. The program helps us be SELF aware (not change others).
