Venting

Posted by diverdown1 @diverdown1, Mar 10 10:22am

I woke up this morning and felt like I was in a car wreck. My body hurts, stiff, tinnitus, inflammation, swollen. I am tired of this and yet I know that I have to keep going. If I allow my thoughts to go into the future, I find it bleak. I am trying to keep myself in the moment. I do start feeling better, with the help of medications but it is hard knowing that there are no answers. I just needed to vent.

@lesligirl02 I don't take propanolol daily. I use it when I have anxiety. It can lower blood pressure and it helps reduce the cortisol. As far the LDN, I have been on it for awhile. The Turmeric (Curcumin) for several weeks now. I am going to my doctor again, actually, Wednesday. Dread it but I know I need to see where my blood work stands. She is also going to test my cortisol levels. This virus is crazy. I believe it runs the gambit of autoimmune symptoms. In four years, I have had GI issues, bladder pain, tinnitus, brain fog, joint pain and inflammation, malaise, fatigue (those are the biggies), sensitivity to foods that were not an issue before. I drink nothing but water (except for a cup of coffee in the morning) as I started having symptoms of interstitial cystitis. I used to always drink green tea until I got this and then started feeling like I had a UTI all the time, which I did not, so I just drink water as that seems to stop that. I understand where you are coming from troubleshooting all the time. I am better than I was in 2022 and 2023, but still have awful mornings and days. Hang in there.

Wishing you great healing! I only take 3.0 mg of the LDN right now and truly have found that an appropriate filler must be used as some truly do interfere with the effectiveness of the LDN.
Like you, I too have IBS, GI stuff and the lactose filler bothered me a little, so after trying other fillers at other pharmacies and none of them were working; I could tell the LDN w/lactose was, so I switched back to Medtown and the lactose filler, and just started using Lactaid products, milk, ice cream, etc., and I am good. I also have had brain fog, joint pain, inflammation, fatigue and all of those things have gone away; almost immediately, so might find out what filler they are using with your LDN because that truly makes a difference as to the effectiveness of the LDN.

Yes, that's the thing about the LDN; healing to the immune system.
I watched my bloodwork rebound back to normal on a couple of tests after taking for only 2 months, then testing, so I found that encourging, and just keep taking it.

Research LDN; there are sites about it, even an international sight that our local sight has sense merged with.

I started at 1.5 mg and upon waking, and during the first week of taking it at bedtime, my dizziness, shortness of breath, and fatigue all went away; aches and pains I had had since covid, all went away. They want you to tritrate up and I am at 3.0 mg and I feel really well.

I think the site is called LDN Research Trust; they have tons of info and guides there. At the bottom of the first page, they have a patient guide, a prescriber's guide and a mental health guide, but most importantly there is information about LDN.

It helps!

Thanks, but I've tried low dose naltexone extensively and found it did not move the needle at all. Not everyone with Long Covid is helped by the same product.

That's true; I'm sorry it didn't help you. Wishing you only the best!

@diverdown1

Hello,
Is there a Long COVID Zoom Group? If so, could I please get more information?
Thank you!

I was in one a year ago that met monthly. I will do some research and get back to you. I may start one as I am graduating in August in Social Work and also in recovery from addiction. If anyone is interested in joining a Zoom or Google call for a group to process and talk about this illness that I know has not only turned my life upside down, but millions of others, please let me know.

@h2998sc The first year, 2022, I did try prednisone. I became really agitated and felt like I was on cocaine. I am in recovery from addiction and very aware of any kind of mood alteration regarding medication. I do know that it helps, but it is not sustainable and emotionally does me more harm than good. I could try it again as it is 4 years later. I appreciate the reply. I am so glad it helped you. It may help others as well.
