Venting

Posted by diverdown1 @diverdown1, Mar 10 10:22am

I woke up this morning and felt like I was in a car wreck. My body hurts, stiff, tinnitus, inflammation, swollen. I am tired of this and yet I know that I have to keep going. If I allow my thoughts to go into the future, I find it bleak. I am trying to keep myself in the moment. I do start feeling better, with the help of medications but it is hard knowing that there are no answers. I just needed to vent.

I was in one a year ago that met monthly. I will do some research and get back to you. I may start one as I am graduating in August in Social Work and also in recovery from addiction. If anyone is interested in joining a Zoom or Google call for a group to process and talk about this illness that I know has not only turned my life upside down, but millions of others, please let me know.

@h2998sc The first year, 2022, I did try prednisone. I became really agitated and felt like I was on cocaine. I am in recovery from addiction and very aware of any kind of mood alteration regarding medication. I do know that it helps, but it is not sustainable and emotionally does me more harm than good. I could try it again as it is 4 years later. I appreciate the reply. I am so glad it helped you. It may help others as well.

@diverdown1 that drug and I don’t do well together at all. Euphoria followed by absolute rage. I won’t take it again.

That is a perfect description of what it did to me as well.

@schwagirl I had EBV reactivated as well and ironically I never knew I ever had it. I also had the parvo virus reactivated, which was odd, although I did do animal rescue for several years and was exposed to two puppies that had parvo. I grew up near NC in East TN. I love Hot Springs. It is my camping place. I also have a friend who teaches at Appalachian State. Hang in there. You will find many folks on this group who understand and are also struggling. Thank you for posting.

Also EBV reactivation here, as well as Lyme. Frustrating. Much care to all. I've just managed to relocate from the East Coast to Utah. needless to say, it was an arduous four-day drive and the altitude nearly killed me, coming over high mountain passes. Fortunately, a friend alerted me to Boost, OTC oxygen. I'm having to use it frequently, but at $10 a can, I am wondering if I could get a prescription for oxygen. I've had blood disorders since covid and don't get enough oxygenation. I feel for all of us. Just started new job and needing to pace myself. I enjoy working, but also don't have a choice financially, so just hope I can manage without overdoing. Thank you, everyone.
