Chronic itch with no medical reason
Does anyone suffer from a chronically itchy scalp, arms and end of the nostrils with no known medical reason? I've been to a dermatologist and an allergist, and have had a full battery of tests. I do not have dry skin and have tried a multitude of products. Anyone else in the same situation?

@mmoffatt: I have been in discomfort for a couple weeks with itching (arms, legs, back, torso). I can not identify a cause & relief from topical creams do not last long, nor relief from benedril or allergy OTC.
Any remedy, medication or cause that you discover will be very helpful to me… please share. dbamos1945
It's not unusual for pain medications or other medications to cause itching. Could you be taking anything that might be the culprit?

3 ReactionsDoes anyone have a chronic rash and itch in the perianal area? I have had this going on 2 years after I had gut surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. I had 2/3 of my large intestine removed and gut malrotation correction surgery and had a lot of diarrhea for a long time after the surgery. My skin just won't heal in that area. Has anyone dealt with this and was able to get better? Thank you
A dermatology consult could offer exam and treatment for anal itch
and rash. Suggest a gentle cleanser like cetaphil on the final tissue wipe.
An add on bidet from Amazon or Costco is very helpful and easy to install
on your present toilet. It rises the toilet seat height a couple of inches.

1 ReactionIt might be caused by products that you were using, and not realizing they are the problem. Have you changed shampoos? In the past, I have had a lot of issues with that.. And that could be a reason why tippy your nose also itches from Shampoo running down as you Wash.
Do you shower or take a bath at night shortly before going to bed? That could help to wash off the chemicals that you’ve been exposed to during the day. Laundry soap and softener if you use any, could also be the problem.
I would say no perfumes Or body washes.
Perfumes can be the cause of many things because we do not know what is in them because they are not made in the United States. The companies will not give you any ingredient list of perfumes or body washes. That’s a fragrance. Are there any dyes in your products?
I’ve done all of this and it has helped tremendously.
Wish you a very best

3 Reactions@aliveagain You are so right! Medications and even over the counter drugs can cause itching and other problems. A good idea is to read the side effects and ingredients of every medication and over the counter items that one uses. It might explain some of the issues people are having.

4 Reactions@aliveagain: You are a wizard. I followed your wisdom and found the itch/vertigo/nausea culprit on my medication list! It took some time doing the research & comparison with my many prescriptions, but had success. Thank you! Life is good again…. dbamos1945

4 ReactionsI had similar symptoms. After several biopsies Grovers Disease was diagnosed.
@dbamos1945 medication allergies and sensitivities were the root of my chronic hives, itching and other symptoms. There are allergy tests for just a few medications, most for mental health use. What I had to do, and this may not be right for everyone, was to stop the suspected medication to see if the itching resolved. After the medication left my system between 1-3 weeks, I started the medication again to see if the rash returned. Never do this without talking to your doctor first. It was grueling but it would answer the question of allergy / sensitivity.

5 Reactions@edjohnson7 Hi, I was diagnosed with Grover’s Disease last April. There is a great group that I subscribed to on Facebook. It’s called Grover’s Disease Support Group. I have gotten very useful information. For me, I use a prescription Calcipotriene and Calmoseptine which I get at Costco but you can also get it on Amazon, I also use Sarna Calm & Cool for itch and you can keep it in the refrigerator. Calmoseptine is actually used as a diaper rash cream and acts as a barrier and I find it to be an and I find it to be a huge benefit, especially at night when I’m going to sleep. Ice packs/Ice Blankets are my best friend during breakouts to keep me cool. Being hot and getting sweaty is the worst thing for me along with eating sweets. What works for person doesn’t work for another. I hope some of this information helps you. I know some people used Dupixent off label and they’ve had great success with it. I can’t use it being a biologic. A lot of people find luck using cilantro and making smoothies out of it and there is a recipe on that Facebook group. Some people use cilantro capsules in combination with chlorella, I personally have not tried that. I wish you luck, it’s not fun.
