FALLING ASLEEP OUT OF NO WHERE

my son will come home from work, sit down and in minutes he is sleeping and snoring. he goes in his room and sits down watcing tv, boom he is sleeping and snooring.
what could cause this?

@kudzu yes n they gave him a CPAP machine which does no good

@nanamillie Either apnea is not his problem after all, or his treatment regimen via the PAP is not the correct therapy for him (including that he doesn't actually use the machine or removes the mask partway through the night as an annoyance, something he might not be aware of....it happens). He needs more attention with the CPAP.

I suspect it’s more than sleep apnea.

He could have Idiopathic Hypersomnia. I have it and it makes me tired all day

Does he take medications that could cause fatigue?

He should see a sleep specialist and request a sleep study. You stay overnight at the sleep clinic. They attach some kind of electrical wires to your head and various parts of your body and monitor you during the night to help find reasons for sleep issues. They can also give you a special watch that you wear 24/hrs a day for a couple weeks that also helps with diagnosis.

He should get this checked out because it could indicate a serious health issue.

how much does he weigh? He could have Pickwickian Syndrome?
