Chronic Pain, alternative Treatment
I have had chronic pain for 17 years. I know what I'm going to say will be met with doubt, but please try what I say, even though it is not completely backed up by sceince. I was on heavy doses of OPIOIDS for 16 years with no help, relieveing my pain, then I started to take Kratom, for the last year I have been Pain Free!!! If you try it , you will have to try different strains, to find out what works best for you

Kratom is NOT an opiod outright. If it was the Govt would class it. They tried and the lie got them nowhere. I believe if you took over what you should it will pick up a small AMT called orpiod.I have seen Mayo write that and it is not true. Neither is hemp oil. Hemp is legal. Read Genisis. All Herbs were for for our use as food and phrmacy. Of course there are limits. Common sense. And it will NOT gateway you to other drugs. Sorry drug companies. Marijuana which is not legal in Texas had reported skin cancer healings. 100 yes from now if we are still here all these things will be used istead of counter drugs. One of my drugs is just under 200.00 a month. It's tiny and should be outlawed
Gail I agree. I just wrote a long report on Kratom and Hemp. My doctor knows I use these items. He also knowd as soon as the Senate in Texas opens their eyes maijuana will be approved. I love our governir. But I think a lot of Republicans will vote Democrat to get the conservative off their butts. These prescriptions are deadly. In the 30 and 40 people did not the junk they are pushing into our bodies. Tell your doctor what you are going to try. It was my primary Dr in Oregon who approved my medical Marijuana.
I agree. They will approve it or ask you to have your primary approve it. Most people opposed to these herbs are people who were fed all the lies. Trying to overcome the miss information is difficult. If it we're dangerous do you really think all the doctors in Oregon would not be shouting from rooftips to stop the sales? But they are not. And it's in my records. Only bad thing is it not covered by insurance yet. Ins companies won't step on their pharmacy friends toes tell your dovtor
@oregongirl
I use medical Marijuana, but I'm skeptical about Kratom since Ives read such different information about it. I'm happy to wait until they learn more about it. But, my pain level is down at this time, so I can afford to wait. Thanks Oregon Girl.
Oh how I miss Oregon. Clinics on every corner and doctors who approve of its use.
I just read an article on NPR about a chronic pain researcher who is experimenting with an entirely new approach to treating chronic pain. She has chronic pain herself and is also telling doctors they need to listen to their pain patients to better understand the real deep pains they experience. I have copied her article link here:
https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2018/09/05/636860122/inspired-by-her-own-pain-a-researcher-explores-alternatives-to-opioid-treatments
Let's hope a solution is on the future horizon.
Gailb good article in meantime ginger-Tumeric tea
@gailb I would happily volunteer to be part of a study on this! Great article. I use mindfulness, and my crafting to deal with the pain and discomfort, as there is so much medication I am not able to take due to bad kidneys.

Hi there, @caityduck ,I appreciate your "liking" what I posted on Connect. Since that posting, I have had foot surgery, which as you can imagine, has taken almost a month to heal from. I still have to wear a boot and not stand, walk, or get my foot wet.
So we haven't made it to the gym, yet. But the hubby has started back walking around the neighborhood. I hope to join him soon!
I hope you are doing well, and have found some answers. We all must be good consumers in order to take good care of ourselves. We can help each other here by sharing our experiences.
I hope to hear back from you sometime! Btw, I love your name on here !
