Relief with Vitamin D increase
I am now over 6 years into my long covid journey and one of my more significant problems has been getting a good nights sleep with the pain from inflammation. I had blood work done a few months ago showing my vitamin D was in the low range of normal and had recently heard that vitamin D supplementation might help with neuroinflammation so I tried it...with my docs permission.
I tried 2000 iu daily for several months and had no change to my condition. I then took 10,000 iu each night and by week three I was sleeping better...sometimes though the entire night waking only to turn over. I also seen to have more motivation and am needing less rest breaks during the day. I will be continuing the dose daily since I am having good results.
Please keep in mind that vitamin D may have anticoagulant effects (e.g. blood thinning) so check with your doc before trying and ensure it does not interact with other meds you are taking.

10,000 iu/day is potentially toxic when taken long term. It interferes with the calcium levels in your blood, which can cause a whole variety of problems. For me it made my heart arrhythmia significantly worse. You might want to drop down to 8,000 and see if you are still getting the same benefit.

1 Reaction@trevors Doc told me toxicity is almost exclusively caused by taking excessive doses of supplements (e.g., 50,000 IU/day for months).
