Nodding off on the couch, but then can't sleep in bed
Lately, I have been making sure that I am really sleepy in the evening before going to bed. So, I read a book starting around 8:30 or 9:00 pm, and find myself drifting asleep while reading. So, I know I am tired. But I wait until 10:30 pm to go to sleep (my sleep time assigned by an online CBT-I program). But when I go to bed, I cannot fall asleep for the life of me. The past three nights, I have had to take a sleep aid around midnight or 1 am to finally fall asleep. Anyone else have this problem, and what are you doing about it?

I haven't had eight hours of sleep in years, except maybe when I was sick with a bad cold, or flu, and even then not continuous, unbroken sleep. I am happy if I get five hours of unbroken sleep now.
@judybradford , I’ve been struggling too for a couple of years. Last night I got 9.5 hours with only 1 interruption that lasted about 5 minutes! I feel great! Now, to duplicate it.
